There stacked in there front court with Drew Gooden, Big Z, DeSagana Diop, Anderson Varejao, and Tractor Traylor. They had no room for him, I feel sorry for the guy the Magic really messed him up he could be good but I dont think a team is willing to pick him up.
Bah, he wasn't going to be anything other than another Ruben Boom-Boom here in Cleveland. I was pretty convinced that he wasn't going to be on the roster come October.
When he was drafted #15 over the likes of Zach Randolph and Tony Parker, I felt he was going to be a major part of the future in the NBA. He was quick, athletic, and moved great for a big man. In all honesty, I don't know what has happened to him since he hasn't really gotten much playing time since he was drafted. What's this guy's main problem? What could have happened in less than four years to turn this guy from one of the NBA Draft's hottest prospects into a no-talent getting cut by the Cavaliers?
That's a shame. I felt that he could have turned his career around. I'd have drop Diop before I would have him, but that's just me. Hopefully the Clippers will make a go for him as a backup
LACneedGRIZZARD I totally agree with you. Diop seems to me like he is going no where. Don't worry though because someone will sign him.
hes a nice young talent but has a past of injuries...plus the cavs are stacked in the frontcourt, altho Hunter has immense potential...
Can the Knicks pick him up despite being grossly over the salary cap? They need a center in the worst way since trading away Mutombo and Trybanski.
This was always going to happen. Otherwise Hunter would have vetoed his sign and trade which allowed this deal to happen. Hunter was never going to be a Cavalier. It was required to make the money work. Hunter will catch on with another team, but he is not a reliable backup.
They didn't really need him. He would have been alright to have on the team, but the front-court is full and they have enough back-up centres. This will also free up some space on the roster, which was looking a bit over-crowded with 16 players after the Battie->Orlando deal. Now down to 12, asuming Lee Nailon and Ruben Bourntje-Bourntje aren't re-signed.
Well, I'm surprised the Cavs didn;t waive Hunter sooner. It's been said since the very second the trade was made public that Hunter was going to be waived.
