Which rookie will have a better season, josh childress or josh smith?

Childress is more experienced but smith is more athletic

Childress. He will have more playing time, and is more versatile.

Childress is more experienced and well-rounded. Smith will get minutes due to his Atlanta connection, but won't play as much as Childress, who many figure will be a starter right off the bat and one of the most NBA-ready rookies.

Smith, he was dominating the summer league games and his high school games. I think he has more of an upside, he's a decent shooter, extremely atheltic and is willing to learn.

Childress, he's going to get the minutes as a starter and is much better defender. He's a much more well rounded player and should have a better season. Longterm, Smith will probably be better(unless he is a bust), Childress seems more like a role player where as Smith has star potential.

Josh Childress. He's going to be a starter on this team and will get his fair share of shots. He'll be one of the go-to-guys on the team (Harrington, Walker), and will be a bigger goto guy when they get deeper in the season, as he gains experience.

As for Josh Smith, he won't play much this year with Harrington, Diaw, and Childress occupying minutes at the 2 and 3.

Obviously he must of dominated his high school games to be picked so high in this years draft. Summer League games mean NOTHING. Loren Woods, Stevenson and Lonny Baxter dominated summer league...nuff said.

i think josh smith could make the better of it, jsmith at #17 and childress at #6. it depends on how many minutes will they be able to undertake under HC woodson. but for me, i think childress has the chance to contribute more. Go Hawks!! [IMG]
