The good thing about New Orleans is Mardi Gras . But come Super Bowl weekend i don't think there will be time to catch any shut eye for the big game. Let's see Saturday starts off Endymion parade at 4:30 untill about 9-10, than the party at the Howlin' Wolf, featuring John Cleary, Papa Grows Funk and the Rebirth Brass Band, which is a free show by the way, which should last untill about 2. Than we top it off on Frenchman street where no one leaves untill the sunshines(8 a.m.). Than we'll take it uptown to catch Thoth at 11 and hopefully be sober enough to catch a 2 hr nap for the SB. Oh man, this is going to hurt. Thank god i'm only 22. And i'll top it off Monday at Orpheus 5:15, than Zulu All-Stars at the State Palace Theater 10:00, than hop on the float tuesday at six with an ice chest full of Turbo Dog and a bag of nugs, to throw some plastic beads at the world's drunkest people. You would'nt believe what these people do for plastic beads, it's like there a million dollar beads. I love New Orleans. Enjoy your SB weekend folks. Go Pats!!!!!!!!! Hopefully i'll be able to watch it.

In 1996 a few buddies and I hopped in the car and headed up I-95 on our way to Mardi Gras....somehow between here and our westerly turn the subject of Philly Cheese Steaks came up....after a few minutes of hearing about just how good they are, we decided to go north for Cheese Steaks....so we ended up in Philly, and i dont regret it....i may never see Mardi Gras, but I ate Cheese Steaks all week, went sleding at Valley Forge, rode ATVs in the snow in Levitttown, and somehow got lost for a day in center city....then I find boxes of cordial cherrys at the Walmart in Levitttown for 25 cents a box....what a week that was....

That can never match Mardi Gras! It is the greatest time all year! I advise everyone to come down and check it out.

Do they have finely chopped beef, sauteed in onions and peppers, smothered in cheese and then served hot on a sandwhich roll? If they dont, I dont see how it can be better....

It's not chopped beef that they saute in onions and peppers... But I think that it's better. [IMG] The cheese smothering costs extra, and I was on an expense account, so I can't really comment.

I've been known to tie people up and perform voodoo on people who talk about my city. Po-Boys are the best sandwiches in the world. Ok, besides the Fried Oyster Club Sandwich, *drools* besides that one they can't be beat. I mean what the hell is a cheese steak anyway. Down here we put a 16 oz steak on the grill spice it up with some Tony's a little bit of mama's maranade and wallah STEAK. Med-rare of course. You've never eaten a good po-boy that's why. Come down to New Orleans and go grad yourself a BBQ Oyster Po-Boy from the Redfish Grill, or a Midnight New Orleans Po-Boy(blackened redfish) from Lafitte Hotel. Man you can't compare anybodies cooking to ours. AND I MEAN NO ONES.
