With the roster the Sixers have right now I'm really not sure if they could go past the 1st round or even get to the playoffs. I think they need to trade Big Dog for another PF/C, or try to get rid at least one of their SF's because we really have a lot now. Corliss plays the 3/4 and I think at least Buckner or Big Dog should be traded maybe for Abdur-Rahim. I heard he is available so what are our chances of landing him? Also, have you heard any rumor trades going around philly? In other threads I heard Sammy going to Phoenix for Marion, personally I don't like this trade, but if we have any chance of getting Marion without letting Sammy/Iverson/Green/Iggy go then I am all for it. Your thoughts?

    Are you kidding me? [IMG]

The Sixers are much better than they were last year and compared to other teams in their division, they are far more superior. The will make the playoffs, no doubt about that. Pass the first round? I think so. I'm not so sure after that. But I got alot of trust in JO.

You?re certainly right about us being a better team than last year; however the Knicks are also a better team from last year. And I don't think we're by far more superior then the others team in the Atlantic Division. The Knicks have just as good of a chance of winning the Atlantic Division than we do.

Well, yes indeed the Knicks are competion. I agree with you on that one. But the rest of our division I don't think really has a chance if we stay healthy and play well.

i agree with you all that the sixers are much better but not title contender. they will have a tough devision to beat unlike in the past years. i mean they will have to beat the knicks, celtics.nets, and wizarsd whop might be decent this season with jamesion and arenas.

The Sixers are definitly better than they were last year. They have done a lot of improving this off season and will at least make the playoffs. They have gotten a good coach in Jim O'Brien after having a coach in Randy Ayers that was a rookie coach and didnt really have the talent in coaching yet to make the team very very successful, but jim does. He has already stated his plans for the team next season while when ayers was hired they said they chose him because he was not gona continue doing things exactly like larry brown did them. Though he never specificated what does things were.

Then they got a lottery pic rookie in Iggy and they are not a lottery team. Had it not been for there 2 top scorers missing over 70 games and Coleman, AI, and robinson, missing a total of 112 games they would have made the playoffs. Even with that they were in it till the last week of the season. There division will be weaker this year as the nets eastern dynasty team has been broken apart. The knicks are good, but to many ego's on the team as well as playing time will make them the lakers of the east with the exeption that they wont have as many wins they will have just as many problems.

They also got willamson a former sixth man of the year who coming of the bench with another sixth man of the year winner aron mckie will make the bench very talented. He will also help us improve in rebounding a area we were in the low 20's in last season. We got him for nothing really as we were gona waive coleman a player who misssed 70 games last year anyway and were not planning on resigning amal any time soon.

Then they got a even deeper bench and team when they traded snow. Since now they can move up and coming willie green into the starting role and AI to point they will have better matchups with teams on the defensive end. As well as a run and gun offense. Then they got a point who is one of the top in assists to turnover ratio in the nba in ollie. Along with a athletic guy in brown who will give us further depth in the three spot.

They will make the playoffs. Probably with a number 3 seed sincve they will most likely win the division if the knicks ego problems get in there way and the raps cant do it with just vince not to mention if he is traded... I see them making it to the eastern finals if all goes well this year possibly they may beat detroit in the eastern finals and get to the nba finals who knows.
