When Indiana was forced into giving away Brad Miller for Pollard and Hedo Turkoglu, why did they trade Turk to San Antonio for Danny Ferry? Could Indiana not afford him or what? Turk would be great to have on the Pacers! To make it worse, we lost Mercer!! Instead we are stuck with Pollard. God, we need B. Miller back!! Forget Damp!
I never recall Turkoglu being a Pacer at all...it was a 3-way deal involving Indiana, sacramento and San Antonio, i think... B. Miller to Sac Danny Ferry/Scot Pollard to Indy Turkoglu to SA I think thats how it worked out, so Indy never had hold of Turkoglu...they basically traded Brad Miller to Sac for Scot Pollard and also were able to get Danny Ferry from SA to make the salaries work...
oh I thought that he went to Indiana and we traded him as soon as we got him. Ron Mercer was in the deal too.
Well, Mercer wouldn't have played much under Carlisle anyway, because he is a bad defender, which is also a reason why he played so little with defensive powerhouse San Antonio, so the loss of Mercer was not really very important.
woah i rembr this trade happening but i never realized how bad it was for the pacers....the pacers lose brad miller(an allstar) for danny ferry and scott pollard who is lucky if he gets around 10 mins a game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">the pacers lose brad miller(an allstar) for danny ferry and scott pollard</div> Miller was a free agent that year. He wasn't signing with Indy anyway, so the Pacers got what they could.
I know that Indiana didn't have the $$ to sign him, it's just depressing. We would have won if we had a great center like B. Miller

If you're saying that the Pacers could have used Miller in the playoffs, you're right, but I'm not sure that his post play and defense would have taken the Pacers to the finals anyways.
The Pacers would have beat the Pistons if JO and Tinsley were healthy. They would have no problem against the Lakers. I'm just saying Brad Miller could have really helped.
