<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Skriptz:</div><div class="quote_post"> If He Signs Dampier Walker Harrington Childress Delk if he doesnt Joel Pryzbilla//Jason Collier Walker Harrington Childress Delk</div> I think your lineups are prestty accurate. But i could expect diaw to be playing alot of the pg time and depending on how he holds up for the season he could possibly start.
With Damp OR Swift: PG Tony Delk SG Josh Childress SF Al Harrington PF Antoine Walker C Eric Dampier/Stromile Swift Without Damp OR Swift: PG Tony Delk SG Josh Childress SF Al Harrington PF Antointe Walker C Jason Collier
Diaw or Delk will start at the pointguard. Delk would be a very good 6th man, which is a role i think he'd help the Hawks more. He's not a true pointguard, so he shouldn't start there IMO. Without Dampier- PG-Diaw SG-Childress SF-Harrington PF-Walker C-Collier With PG-Diaw SG-Childress SF-Harrington PF-Walker C-Dampier They're both one huge team, and a the Dampier lineup is a definite playoff team in my eyes.
I agree with banks, pg-delk childress harrington walker dampier/collier this is the lineup the ajc posted(but with no dampier) after the walker deal went down.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wink23:</div><div class="quote_post">there needs to be a trade to get a pg, delk is not great starting</div> yeh well we dont have anything to trade that wouldnt hinder our team so much. Just give delk a try.
With this lineup I expect Walker to handle the ball alot as a point forward at the 4 spot. And be the primary playmaker. Josh Childress will also handle some, so I think the Hawks can still compete on a night to night basis with Delk at the point. Walker & Childress handling the ball might cover up Delk's lack of point guard skills. Delk defends well so thats a benefit to having him in the lineup. And he can put solid points on the board. But even if the Hawks get Dampier I still dont think they have a legit shot at the playoffs this season unless the lower half of the east playoff teams will be under .500 again like last year . Its hard for a team with a totally new starting lineup & a lack of experience playing together(outside Delk & Walker of course) to make the jump and turn around needed for the Hawks to make they playoffs. The 1st month or so alone of the season, it will take these new faces to get use to one another. If Walker resigns with the Hawks and they add a few more parts next offseason(like a playmaking point guard) then I think they will be a legit playoff team. But they will be a competive team this season. The Hawks wont be a easy win like the post Steve Smith/Dikembe Hawks have been the past 4 or 5 seasons.
