From ESPN.com: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Send Webber to the Heat for Eddie Jones and put Webber where he fits, as the supporting actor. That would save the Kings $20 million over the course of their contracts. Bite the bullet and take a lesser player to get rid of Webber. Too bad the Knicks pawned off all of those expiring contracts for Jamal Crawford. Perhaps they could have secured Webber for them. Maybe someone would take Christie for an expiring deal. With a base of Stojakovic, Miller and Bibby, it won't take long to build back up. They're all young enough to remain a core for some time.</div> More here.
WOW! I realize its a long shot but the Heat would be definite favorites if that happened...It would likely take Eddie Jones, an additional player plus a draft pick for it to happen tho...Its just merely a rumor but that would be crazy if the Kings were to even consider it...
EJ really isn't woth much, but hey, if it happens I won't be one to complain at all. That can really solidify a championship for the team, and Webber won't crowd the lane because he's a perimeter oriented PF.
man this would be awesom if the heat landed webber. I mean considering his injuries, including how he wobbbled around in the playoffs i coudl see this happening. I think if this trade was even considered it all depends on how well webber recoverd form this injury. Also i've been considering webber playing center. I mean i think he has the body for it. and hes quick so i think that could help. (off-topic wish ) i think it would be great if he came to atl and played center for us. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting RiverspoonJones:</div><div class="quote_post">You forgot to mention it came from Sam Smith (proliferator of lies and bullcrap)</div> (Off topic sepculation of Sam smith.........?) yeah you are coreect man some of the things he was saying were kinda iffy in his article. Thought i truly agree jackson maybe would have ricked more if he felt he was wanted checkwise. but i believe jackso is better off the bench. because he brings energy to the team i dont agree with sam on making jackson the starter. becuase i dont think he would be as effective.
I would be a heat fan, for ever if that deal went through. They'd be title contenders right away. A lineup of Dwyane Wade, Damon Jones, Dorell Wright, Chris Webber and Shaq would be dominating not to mention there backups Dooling, Udonis Haslem, Rasual Butler, etc. They would be contenders right away, but team chemistry could be a problem. I doubt this deal goes through, because they have a awesome power forward in my man Udonis Haslem.
WOW! Rumors about Webber are flying around like crazy. I heard a Sixer one too like Glenn,Jackson, and Korver for him. IF the Heat would be able to land him it would be great. I always like Webber and would love for him to come here. Imagine this: C-Shaq PF-Chris Webber SF-Rasual Butler SG-Dwyane Wade PG-Damon Jones ANd if they're able to land Malone too. Great. A big man 3 man rotation of Malone,Webber, and Shaq would absolutlet dominate the playoffs and win it all no question. Too bad this will probably never happen. But we can always hope
Would be a great pickup but only if he leaves his attitude and comments in sac town. Other than that, he could be a burden on this team and possibly cost us a chance at the title.
rumors are rumors...but could end up true as well. Webber for Jones or Webber for JOnes and a draft pick? i dnt think the Kings are up to it. why give up webber? give me a real reason for that. its impossible for me.. but if it is already settled down, the Heat are going to be hotter this coming season and sure give the other teams a headache. Webber and Shaq...that's a dream!!
if they get c-webb, miami will be an even BIGGER threat in the east this year. This could be a good year for us.
I dont think Sac would seriously considered this trade, its to much change imo. They already let Vlade walk, they arent realistically going to let Webber go as well, or at least not without getting a bigman in return. If Sacro does this trade then they would have lost their to best passing bigmen in the same off-season. And thats alot of change for a team that relies alot on the passing of their bigmen. It would also be the loss of their two better pick& roll bigmen, which they use to help free up their shooters like Peja, Bibby, & Jackson etc. Those guys would be forced to create shots more for themselves without picks & excellent bigman passing. I know the Kings would still have Miller who is a good passer but I dont think he is like Webber & Vlade. And Ostertag isnt a pick & roll player or a good passer. So if the Kings were to lose both Webber and Vlade in the same year, I think that would be to much change for them to legitimately stay in the top 3 in the west. So thats why I doubt C-Webb will be going anywhere this offseason. But if they were interested in this trade then Webber would be an excellent fit, his jumpshot from the high post would really stretch things for Shaq in the low post. And D.Wade would have a excellent pick & roll patner, which would make him an even more dangerous player.
It would be utterly amazing for the Heat if t hey were to pul lthis trade off... plus with Karl Malone... it'd be the pick and roll team of the ages for Wade... he'd be racking up the assists. Webber would strech things out for Shaq to dominate, and D.Jones could strech even more with his 3 point shot. Wade could pass and penetrate all game every game and be super effective... what a team we'd have...
Sacramento would have to be out of their minds to pull a trade like that. It's ridiculous. If they even thought about trading Webber why would they trade him for Eddie Jones? This would never happen.
This is all rumor right? I haven't seen anything on this yet. Maybe this should go into the Rumor Mill? when i first read the thread, I as blown away. NO WAY! NO FAIR! LOL
Damn a front court of webber, shaq, and person would be very solid. Still wouldnt call them the favorites since webber in injury prone and the pistons still have the front line of the wallace brothers and prince. As well as one of the top scoring back court duo. While this would give the heat only 4 or 5 solid players.
After the Heat were able to pull off the Shaq deal, no trade scenario can seem unrealistic or unlikely.
Good point about them pulling off the Shaq trade, but everyone in America knew Shaq wanted out of LA, and with Lakers management eating out of the palm of Kobe's hand, it was bound to happen. But, like someone said, the Kings just lost a starting big man and getting another G/F wouldn't make up for it. I'd love to have Webb on the Heat, but it's not too likely.
Well there's the Kings lockerroom dispute and anger, so It could happen... peja wants out, and I wouldn't be surprised if some other kings wanted out as well. Supposedly the lockeroom fight divided the kings team in 2... peja, vlade and people vs biby, webber and people. Now that vlade's gone I can see why peja wants out.
Keyon Dooling, Wesley Person, Eddie Jones, and mabye Rasual Butler for a package deal of Peja and C-Webb? It's nice to dream . C: Shaq PF: Webber SF: Peja SG: Dwyane Wade PG: Damon Jones
