i would say kevin garnett because he has good sportsmanship and has stuck with the timberwolves and plays good when we need him to and is good down low and he can cash some from 3 point land sometimes and he doesnt ride pine.

    the pine is the bench

kevin garnett... no doubt... no one in the league can say they can do everything in the game of basketball effectively. tim duncan can't run the floor and handle the ball like KG can... Kobe isnt a shot blocker or a post player... granted duncan can do certain things better than KG, and so can kobe, only KG can say he can do everything at a high level (jump shot, post up, dribble, rebound, block, steal, pass, etc.)

I'm going to go with a controversial choice here and say Ron Artest. He plays well on both sides of the floor, scores well and is by far one of the best defenders in the league. He gives you a little bit of everything.

Kevin Garnett for sure, the guy's 9 years deep in the league and has been breaking more records and shocking more people each year. He has the best all around stats and won MVP for this year which was well deserved.

My runner up would be Kobe Bryant, he can pass, rebound, score, defense. He does it all, it don't matter if you love him or hate him the truth is he does everything.

kg for sure..great defender, rebounder, team player, leader, great offensive player, the most versatile especially when you consider height and can play all 5 positions on the floor

When you say "all-around," what do you mean? If you mean can effectively play at the most positions, I'd Kevin Garnett. But if you mean a player who has the least amount of weaknesses (the more "complete game"), I'd have to say Tim Duncan. Kobe Bryant would be a close second.

I think it's between Kevin Garnett and no matter how much I hate to say it, Kobe. Both of them are at the top and don't really have a weakness in there games. And they tend to be the leaders for there teams when they step out on the court.

Yeah I agree with durvasa. Tim Duncan has the least weaknesses like his free throw consistency, or lack thereof. That can be fixed as he shot over 70% before. Kobe Bryant is also at second for me. He is more athletic than KG and Duncan along with a better jump shot, but IMO what he is missing is smarts. He hoists up shots with 19 seconds still up on the shot clock and he has horrible shot selections. Other than that, I think he is the most complete player, and those flaws he has are fixable. I would put KG at third for the most complete.

But if you mean all around then this is how it stands:
    1. Kevin Garnett
    2. Kobe bryant
    3. Tim Duncan
    4. Tracy Mcgrady(not close to Tim Duncan though)

it has to be KG, he can basically do everything. i guess kobe too even though he doesnt rebound and block as well as KG. TD is also a good allround player but if it were one player it would be Kevin Garnett.

    What weaknesses does KG have?

He doesn't really have "weaknesses" as he's above average at everything. But for a seven footer, you'd like him to have a better post-up game. I mean, his is very good, but not in the same class as, say, Duncan or Shaq or even Yao. KG is more of a face-up player, which is fine, but sometimes down the stretch in big games you'd like to have a big time post player, and Timmy is more effective with that than KG.

That's why I say Duncan is more "complete" in the that he's more complete as a big man with the post play. Just as Kobe is about as complete as it gets as a slashing, playmaking guard.

I remember when people were comparing him to Larry Bird during his rookie season. Man, that died fast.

I'd say KG without a doubt...he has the handles, moves, and versatility to be the next Magic on a diff team....Carmelo is workin his way up too...he surprised alot of people this past season...

No mention of the triple double leader each and every season? You do know who I'm talking about right? I do agree that KG is the best all around but Kidd should be mentioned.

    1. Kevin Garnett- Can shoot the three when there is no other option which he showed two times when he was forced to throw it up in the playoffs, has argueable the best inside postup ability in the league out side of shaq, the best rebounder in the nba and team leader, has a great mid range game, versital can play anything on the court even point guard at times if they wanted to put him there because he has such great ball handling abilities. MVP Nuff said.

    2. Tim Duncan- I am not a fan of him at all, but I have to admit he has one of the best all around game outside of free throw shooting and of course three point shooting. He can rebound, post up, shoot the mid range shot and lead a team. He almost put up a quadrupal double in the finals.

    3. Shawn Marion- Good dunker and finisher can rebound, shoot the three, and finish strong as well as having great defensive abilities. Can also creat off the dribble at times and is a pretty good passer.

    4. Jason Kidd- Six five great passer and can rebound well for a point guard. Good leader and has great court vision. He is probably the best player in the league while running the break.

    5. Steve Francis- A little bias yes. He can lead the league in points if he wants to yet took a smaller roll in houston when Yao joined the team. He is a point guard despite what people may say he is imo just the new generation of point guards. He will perform well running the break in Orlando with all the talent surrounding him. Also has started the all star game the past two years if that counts for anything.

I think that Andrei Kirilenko is under rated in this topic for all around player, but i'd say KG. And I'm suprised not a lot of people have put Kidd.
