The four join Paul Westhead on Davis' staff.

"We considered it important to find coaches which complemented Johnny's talents," Magic general manager John Weisbrod said. "With these additions, we feel we have accomplished that objective and are excited to move forward as a team."

A 1971 third-round pick of Chicago, Ray appeared in 784 regular-season games during a 10-year career, averaging 7.4 points and 8.9 rebounds. He previously has served as an assistant with Cleveland and Golden State.

Wiley was the first player ever signed by the Magic on June 29, 1989. He played three seasons for Orlando, averaging 4.4 points in 83 games.</div>

This is great for Johnny Davis. He has some guys under him on the staff that he has needed since he took over. He didn't seem to like having Doc River's assistants for the rest of the season and I think somewhere along the line Weisbrod made it known that at the end of the season, that JD would be given the opportunity to hand-pick assistants.

Good move and I like the decision to bring in Wiley simply because he has some history with the organization.

Yup, solid staff. JD might actually have a chance to be a solid coach.

Ok, I think we all agree that JD deserves a shot for this job. But, if he doesn't take us to the playoffs, do we fold? Or what?

Another Good move by the Magic organization. Now JD has a pretty compact staff to where he fall back on this season. This team is pretty likely of making the playoffs this season, epecially with the moves we made in the offseason and recently,If JD can't coach this team to the playoffs or a winning season he shouldn't have his job.

well, personally,I think and have always thought that Doc Rivers was an excellent coach. They ride his ass out of town for last year but seem to forget the previous 2-3 seasons of overacheiving for this team.

Regardless of what you guys say about T-Mac is he partly to blame for last season's collapse. Take away DA and all the cohesiveness in your squad was gone. Alot of people last year were lauding McGrady as a great leader, saying losing DA wasn't such a big deal but it wasn't the case and Doc took the fall.

JD won't last,I don't think he is near as good as Doc Rivers and this season will prove that point. Matter of fact I'll go as far to say that they would have fared better with Doc's leftovers than alot of the newblood.

Magic let a great coach go for no good reason, guess thats buisness as usual in the NBA tho'.
