Yao Promises To Not Shave For 6 Months If China Falters

    Well, here we are, seeing Yao in another of his humorous antics. In fact, the evil side of me actually wants to see him with a beard. Beards can sometimes be a show of aggresiveness and I hope that a beard can help Yao become more intimidating to opponents next season. This also shows how much of a leader Yao has become, and it'll be great if he can take over as our leader next season too, despite his young age of 21.

    In the China section of asia-basket.com, one of the writers predicts they will end up 6th.

    its great to see yao being out spoken. I can't wait to see how him and Tmac merge together next year.

    eh i think china will finish in the top 8...but im really intrigued of seeing yao with a beard...

    I think his comment was more of just a boost of confidence to his Chinese teammates. Yao obviously has high expecations for his Chinese team this year so him making these comments publically just might be a way of boosting confidence/encouraging your teammates.

    BTW, I saw Yao Ming carried the flag for the Chinese delegation in the Opening Ceremonies. Pretty cool [​IMG]

    ^Yep Tim Duncan did it too.

    Very interesting. I would love to see him with a beard, lol. Who knows, maybe it would look better than Scott Pollard?!

    If Yao Ming didn't shave for 6 months, would he even grow a full beard? Genetically, people from China tend to not grow much facial hair. I wonder what it would look like.

    I never got to see China in the opening ceremony. I had to go to a party. I wish i saw Yao.
