<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> While not contractually obligated to deal Carter, York believes the team is exploring deals. One potential blockbuster that Carter has mentioned to some of his friends would see the Raptors star heading to Philadelphia, Allen Iverson to Seattle and Ray Allen to Toronto. It's believed Allen may be close to signing a new, five-year deal worth more than $100-million, which would make him even more attractive for a sign-and-trade to Toronto. York's sources also said Carter held meetings earlier in the day at his nightclub. It's possible Carter is preparing to sell his share of the nightclub should he become an ex-Raptor. </div> Full Story courtesy of Sportsnet.ca The rumors keep flying. What would everyone think about Iverson? Talented sure, but attitude may be a problem.
I think AI is really going to benefit in being in Athens. He is a team captain and is the oldest on the team. All the recent interviews I see of him in Athens seem different, I'm not really sure why but it seems different in a way that I can't describe. Before I was really hoping that we would ditch him but now I'm actually hoping we keep him.
If Allen Iverson comes to the team there will be too much pandemonium, and the team may have to go through a major overhaul. Also, instead of Allen Iverson fitting with the team, the team is going to have to fit with Iverson, which will be too much. This also will eventually cause problems down the road. So basically, there would be too much drama for the Sonics, they should just stick with Ray Allen. However, if Allen Iverson were to fit with this team, I think it?s safe to safe to say that the Sonics would be a Playoff team. But this is just a rumor and Jim O?Brien and Billy King stressed it enough that Iverson will remain in Philadelphia and didn?t Ray Allen already sign a contract extension with the Sonics this past week?
Greatly said Avery! I never trust Billy King but I really do trust him when he says that Iverson is going nowhere.
I'd be sick. I hate the way Iverson demands the ball. We don't have the defense for that kind of play.
I'd rather sign Ray to a max extension and keep him than take on Iverson. If I'm trading Ray to Toronto, I would want VC back, or a three way involving someone else like Pierce. Iverson makes zero sense at all.
I'd take Iverson in a heartbeat. Street cred in Seattle is one of those 'when-pigs-fly' things that you just can't pass up
yeh i think iverson would fit the sonics very well. i'm guessing he would be playing sg with flip and rid at the point. i could see them being a very good fastbreak team. come on guys pull the trigger make this off season even more interesting. The only thing i dont like about this trade is vince going to philly. i think hes better as being the 2 punch in a one two punch combo. flatout i think he needs to be the backup man for another star. four team trade possibilty if payton did not want to be on a contenders team maybe boston could trade ricky d and payton for v sizzle which would make the trades look like this. toronto ray A philly ricky d and payton seatlle allen I Celts vince and kevin ollie
guess you guys who arent in canada dont know...marty york is an idiot, and his "york reports" are always full of nothing but BS. i wouldnt put much stock in what he says. course the deal IS possible, but highly unlikely

In Philadelphia, both Snow and McKie could defend bigger guards, and were pass first players. You couldn't pair Ridnour and Iverson together for long periods because Ridnour has enough trouble defending men his own size, let alone bigger guards, and pairing Flip and AI would be a handful as both are shoot first players, and Flip isn't going to be able to defend shooting guards effectively either. It's a stretch to be relying on Daniels to spend a lot of time defending bigger players too, and would hamper the development of both Ridnour and Flip. In short, with the current size of our backcourt rotation after losing Brent Barry, you don't trade Ray for Iverson. Jon Barry would help, but again, where does that leave the development of Ridnour and Flip? As I said, I'd much rather sign Ray to his extension than trade him for Iverson. And I like AI.
