I just heard from the local TV station that Gugliotta signed with the Celtics. I thought he was going to sign with the Wolves. He will no doubt help the Celtics. Probably better for the Wolves, too, since it frees up more time for Ebi, Wally and/or whoever they trade for.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Danny Ainge, who once coached the 34-year-old power forward in Phoenix, is banking on Gugliotta's Utah showing as the sign of a late-career renaissance.

That, anyway, was the theme when the Celtics director of basketball operations introduced Gugliotta, who yesterday signed a one-year deal with the Celtics for the veteran's minimum of $1.6 million.

Though his primary role has been as a power forward, the 6-foot-10 Gugliotta characterized himself as a player who can contribute in all three frontcourt positions.

``I've guarded all three positions,'' he said. ``The way offenses are being run these days, (small forwards and power forwards) are basically the same. Positions are less important than they were 15 years ago.''

Well googs really doesnt matter any more, he is injured alot and very old and I doubt he can play many minutes without getting injured, I think he was brought there just for a locker room guy and veteran leadership which he would bring to the table in bean-town.

The guy was a tough player though. Hopefully he'll stay healthy

Before he broke his knee, he was one of my favorite players. During his all-star days, he was one of the top twenty players in the league and had the potential to be one of the top ten. I'm sure the skill is still there, and it's just the physical aspects of the game which his old, injured body can't take that have been holding him down over these years. I'm sure he'll have a lot of tips and advice for the young Celtics team. Great addition by Ainge.

I hope Googs has a great year. Even though he did not pan out for the Suns he was always a class act and worked very hard. He could have easily been a top 20 player in this league. Good Luck Googs!

I hope Googs has a good season but i have one question WTF IS DANNY AINGE DOING?! This guy has like 50 diffrent guards and he adds a old Googs who really cant contribute much but his knowledge i really dont see Danny Ainges image of a future title contending team with Boston.
