I have lopst all my respect for the Lakers that I had before. They kiss Kobes ass, but they get SHaq to leave, and convince Payton to re-sign with them and then they screw him over as well. He should'nt of re-singed with them and just foollow Shaq. Paytno doesn't care how great the Celtics were in the past, but he does care how they are now. Right now the Celtics arn't even close to winning a ring. Payton deserves one real bad. He should go with Shaq as Malonee should. I'm also sure this wilol convince KArl not to re-sign with the Lakers as PAytno was his friend and Malone might think they'll just trade him to a crappy team too. I hate when people rip on Payton. If PAton and Malone followed Shaq to the Heat I believe the Heat would win. A) Kobe(selfish ) would be replaced by Dwyane Wade(genourous) and would gladly share the ball with his teammates. Payton will have an offense he could thrive in. C) Karl won't be hurt(hopefully) D) Shaq will get more touches I'm sure a heat with Shaq, Payton, MAlone, Wade, and Jones could cause some serious damage. Imagine this. payton shouldn't be complaing the Nba is a buisness and they need to do what is best for their organization. I think payton is just looking for a good team to go to so he can finally win a championship but no matter how good the team he goes to if he plays like the waty he did last year he's not going to win anything.
Ive lost almost all respect for Gary Payton through all this. he was a great player but hes a pretty lousy excuse for a human being. All you people sympathizing with him should check yourselves and think twice about this. so the lakers "mistreated" him so what? this is a buissness. players get traded to places they dont want to go all the time and the way its always been until crybabies like payton and terrel owens cam along was you man up and play for your new boss. if you dont wanna go to a cold weahter city or a noncontender TOUGH Sh**! Payton needs to try and learn how to be a man
Morally he should shut up and play because after last season I really doubt if he has anything left. Although the triangle offense was not an offense where he could shine at. Either way he's screwed unless he can get a trade to a contender. Lakers and Celtics are in about the same boat. Neither team has a big man. Both have superstar guards and upcoming role players. Neither are gonna win a ring for a long time.
How do some many of you guys sympathize for Payton? A MULTI-millionaire NBA player, well, legend... er, yeah, anyways my point is.. it's business. I'm sure he'll do just fine in Boston, if he wants a ring so bad, why doesn't he earn one? And no, its not like Payton just deserves some free ring. Gary Payton will be fine, I assure you.
