<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Danny Ainge continued his trend of adding veterans to the Boston Celtics, signing injury-plagued forward Tom Gugliotta on Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Gugliotta likely received the veterans exception after making more than $11 million last season. Gugliotta, 34, averaged just 2.9 points and shot 35 percent last season for Phoenix and Utah. Yet Ainge, Boston's executive director of basketball operations, believes Gugliotta can be a valuable player off the bench. "We're getting a very versatile player," Ainge said. "He is a guy that can play a little bit of center in a pinch for (coach) Doc (Rivers). He can play small forward, can play power forward. He can pass, he can shoot and create off the dribble. He's a complete basketball player."</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But the 6-10 Gugliotta has averaged just 46 games over the last seven seasons due to an assortment of injuries. </div> :thumbsdow <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After being acquired by Utah from Phoenix last season, Gugliotta started 24 of 25 games and averaged 3.7 points and 5.2 rebounds. </div> <font size="1">(Ok, maybe not a total thumbs up, but at least he got suited up for 24 out of the last 25 games. )</font> Good thing he's coming off the bench. I can't imagine it's much of a contract, so there's not alot of worry about him being an injury casualty. He's worth the risk when healthy, even on the down side of his career.
So did Ainge give him what was left of our MLE or does he still have that left? But either way, not a bad pickup. He's not going to be expected to play a lot and should be able to stay healthy, though Ainge now has two of the worst pairs of knees in the game with Raef and Googs.

The Globe has it as a one year deal worth 2.6, the Herald has it as one year 1.6. Chad Ford said that if the Celtics have any type of money left they make take a run a Marcus Fizer.
They signed him to Veterans Exception money. Fizer was just busted for a DWI. Not sure why Ford thinks we're going to go after him.
