Crazy..I thought he would of been a Hawk..just because they could of offered him the most money I believe.
That sucks for New York and the Hawks. Isiah is now 1 for 3 in his off season plans. Got crawford missed Walker and Dampier. Just goes to show nothing in the league is a given thing these days the hawks were thought to have him by today looks like the warriors get final laugh on dampier as he doesnt go to New York and they get good players back. Wonder what Isiah will resort to now you know his minds always workin like a clock. Perhaps he will try to get swift in a trade involving kurt thomas or someone either way he probably wont get them without giving up something big mabye keon clark? He is being over looked this off season. Other than that there screwed.
^I'm glad that New York didnt get him cuz the Crawford, Marbury, H2O backcourt is just disguisting. But is it true that they wanted Walker???

Then Walker wanted to go to New York since last season as well when the walker to new york spree to boston trade popped up glad that didnt happen being a wolves fan. Anyway at one point they were 90% sure that he was coming to New York well he was anyway. So was dampier 90% sure he was going to new york guess 90% is not what it use to be.
Hell yeah! I love Dallas....I thought you were talking about Detroit and you scared the shit out of me.
I'm not sure if I'd call it "official" with the soonest that Damp could sign being September 21st or so and then having to wait through league approval, although it's definitely "confirmed." Also, as a side note to the thread-starter, please don't start 2 threads on the subject with the exact same title, since there are other threads on this, this one will be merged eventually. You might want to talk about it in the Warriors forum or the Mavericks forum.
Golden State gets Najera and two first round picks for Dampier, who they were going to lose anyway, and two scrubs. If they pull this off, Golden State does really well with this trade.
I guess this is a move forward after many backward by the Mavs. Dampier is a vwy good player. And is capable of putting up a double double every night. So this was a good moove for them.
Actually it is official except for Laetnerr and Dickau because you have to wait two months...Dampier is gone...let him go...
Great Great move by mr. cuban. its possible 3 of the top 5 teams in the west are all from texas! if my rockets dont win...id rather see dallas than any other team win. hopefully dampier will be the dampier of last year and not of any previous years in his career. one must be careful though, because last year was his contract year.
Well, Dampier wanted to go to a contender, and a team with money enough to give him what he wanted. So, we all know Dallas Mavericks fit for his wish with Mark Cuban in the owner position. Good trade for them, and good for Golden State too. Golden State where able to make a sign-and-trade deal for Dampier instead of watching him leave for nothing. Because Dampier made it clear early that he was leaving Warriors. I think he should be loyal to the club, they made him a great player, give em something back Eric!

Dampier allows the Mavs to compete with the Spurs. Houston will be a tough team, but they may be a year away, still need a point guard. These three teams will battle next year. I'm not as worried about the "contract year" talk on Dampier. His contract year was his first year as a primary player and he responded. He also has had to play for a team that doesn't make the playoffs and now he'll be on a team with championship aspiration. I think he'll elevate his game even higher. Give him props for putting up the kind of numbers he did last year in a situation he wanted out of. Great deal for Golden State too, win-win trade for both teams.
Too bad they lost Nash and Jamison. If they had had Dampier last year, could anyone have stopped them?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KG is the MVP:</div><div class="quote_post">Too bad they lost Nash and Jamison. Not bad! And it sucked big time losing Nash. But Terry/Daniels/Harris will be fine at point guard, and much younger. I'm glad they didn't overpay Nash.
How good Dampier is depends upon how long is contract is. If he gets more than two years, he'll go back to playing hard once in while like before. If he was more concerned about playing for a contender he would have taken the Knicks mid level and made the Knicks bump up a level or two in the standings. Dallas, after losing Nash, does not have as good as team as last year.

I know they need a year to get to know everyone. i just dont really think dampier fits a run and gun type of game. mark cuban mark cuban
