Since Mitch is on vacation this is the perfect time to complete this deal. Banks and Payton are gone, Atkins is the new Fish and Sasha needs a mentor. First we get Malone to commit, then we trade Grant, D. George and any of the small forwards they want to the Nets for J Kidd. The salaries would work and the Nets would get cap room next year, we get a legit point guard and another run at a title. How about this line up:
    pg----Kidd
    sg----Kobe
    sf----Odom
    pf----Malone
c-----Vlade CAN YOU SAY TITLE # 15? [IMG]

That is pretty close to being realistic, because if LA wants to take on Jason's contract for a bunch of players, NJ is likely to consider. The only problem is the Lakers would have very little depth.

I can say Title #15 and, its very realistic if we get kidd. A Talented un-selfish PG. Two good forwards, and the best SF in the game! O.. and vlade. lol.

I really hope this trade works out!!!

It wouldn't be so bad for the Nets, either...if you think about it. Kidd is going to retire pretty soon, and his contract is huge...the Nets lost Martin already, and they won't be making a run for the championship anytime soon. Why wouldn't they want the cap room? It would be pretty helpful. Plus...now the Nets need a scorer since Martin is gone...and with Kidd's knee surgery, I doubt he'll be scoring as much. Not as many triple doubles for J-Kidd, but he'd still be a great passer for Kobe and Odom. I say let's do this, and make the Heat wish they would've kept Odom.

    More Depth Than Previous Years

    I think our depth would still be better than previous championship years, how about backups;
    PG-ATKINS, SASHA
    SG-RUSH, BOBBIT
SF-WALTON, BUTLER; WHOEVER THE NETS DON'T WANT, COOK, JONES ETC,
    PF-MEDVEDENKO
    C-MIHM

I dont think it will happen. The lakers ahve already stated they dont want to take on kidds huge contract unless they cna get rid of some like brian grants contract. I dont think the nets will want to involve grant in a deal since they just signed RJ to the max deal and are tring to get as much money as possible before the move to NY.

^ Trade Rejected: Lakers are not interested in your offer. :P

Judging by the way he plays in the Olympic, I guess the Lakers are adding another untouchable name on its roster, Lamar Odom. He will not be traded, can you imagine if he meshes well with Kobe, the other and most untouchable player on the planet. The Lakers will be sleepers and win the West... it will be the Rockets 94 all over again!!! Don't bet against it.

I don't think that the Lakers want Kidd's contracts but I'd love to see Kidd in a Laker jersey.

THe Nets would only want an all-star in return for a top 5 player in the league. You guys think you're only going to give up scrubs like Devean George, Brian Cook, and Bobbit for Jason Kidd. THe Nets are going to want at least CAron, and maybe Odom too. You don't trade away the best point guard in the league for scrubs Im sorry. Anyway this trade would take their startinging back courts contracts for the rest of the decade.

1st off, I doubt malone would commit now after the way kupchak got rid of payton. Malone is probably wondering if kupchak would trade him too if he signs again. 2nd, kidd is the best PG in the league. Even if the nets want to get rid of him, dont you think they would want more than an average PF, a below average SF and more cap room next year?? Kupchak is an idiot but the nets would be even bigger idiots if they agreed to a trade like this

NO way will the Lakers trade Odom. I dont know, I still think this trade is feasible. Look they let Kenyon go for 3 draft picks......lol I think the nets would let Kidd go just for cap space and some garbage players. I really think they would. Plus, it doesnt seem that kidd wants to play in NJ anymore. We all know, that disgruntled players never play well on teams they dont want to be on.

Yea talking about contracts, There is always the chance of a third team to get in help make the deal happen. I have no idea on who the other team would be but in Laker Land anything and I mean anything is possible.

Yes, what an intelligent way to argue with Rudeezy! [IMG]

I don't see J-Kidd going to the Lakeshow, i think he's going back to Dallas. However, if they did get J-Kidd, they're automatic contenders, but again, i don't see it happening. I think the Nets could get a better deal out of Kidd, just so they can remain in the playoffs, they don't have to rebuild by losing terribly, because they have tons of draft picks they aqcuired through trades.
