Clippers sign trio of "young" players <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Los Angeles Clippers added a trio of prospects to the lineup Monday, signing second-round pick Lionel Chalmers and free agents Mamadou N?diaye and Quentin Ross. First-round pick, Shaun Livingston remains unsigned.</div> http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_9369.shtml
How have they still not signed livingston mabye they are tring to do what the nuggets did last year with melo to get more cap room before signing him. That is the only option I see as being the reason since he is there future. Anyway I think this signing was really just to fill the team roster because these players would sign cheap like moore would. They got so much cap room now after they didnt get kobe that they are saving it for next year to make a run at young free agents mabye. Like Curry or Chandler who's home town is los ageles if one of them is not resigned by the bulls before the off season.

I think the reason the Clippers have still not re-signed Livingston is so that he can still be traded. Signed rookies can be traded only three months after they're signed, so if Livingston remains unsigned, the Clippers can entertain trade offers for him.
Clippers sign trio of "young" players It looks like there may be a new Q in town now! I watched Ross since he was a freshmen at SMU. Quinton Ross was a terrific college player. He improved every year and won the WAC conference player of the year his senior season. Should have been drafted, but instead went to play in Belgium. To me he showed much improvement from his senior year at SMU to where he's at now. I'm not sure if you guys watched the summer league games, but in my opinion Quinton was the best unsigned player on the roster. Q's a can shoot well, but needs a little improvement from beyond the arc. He's also a good rebounder and good defender. Always looks for his teammates first, if no one appears he goes to the basket and draws the foul, and he's a really good foul shooter. I think this is a great pick up for the clippers, hopefully he'll make the team this year and not be released. My favorite team is the Mavs, but since I like Quinton Ross so much I'll probably be pulling for the Clippers. Good luck Clippers, and good luck Q!
I'm excited about the new Q, Quentin Ross and Lionel Chalmers not so much about Mamodou(sp?). I hear Ross is really good, he deserves his chance. But by no means am I going to call him Q, there is one Q Quentin Richardson. I don't get why they want to try to "entertain" trade offers for Livingston when they said he's there future point gaurd.
Quentin Ross sounds like a promising young player to me even though I have never seen him play. I still want them to sign Livingston. i don't even know why they should entertain them selves with trade offers. They need to keep him if they want a good future. Livingston, Elton, and Maggete will rock the West when their time comes. None of those players have reached their prime yet so no need to worry Clipper fans.
I'm new to this forum and a new Clippers fan. However, I am a Quinton Ross fan and I think that he will contribute to this team. Quinton played very well at SMU and should've been drafted. He played well last year during the preseason for the Clippers before being cut. He was an instrumental player on Telindus Oostende, the Belgium team he was with last year. Now he's back, and he's an even better player. He is much more aggressive than he was during his first stint with the Clippers. He picked up a lot of experience in Belgium and he showed that hustle in the Summer Pro League. I mentioned this new "hustle" to him and he said that the Europeans play more aggressive ball and don't call as many fouls. He learned a lot overseas, just like Team USA is learning now. As Bulldog13 mentioned earlier, Quinton is very unselfish with the ball and that's rare nowadays. He's not the kind of "me-first" player you see so often. Instead, he's modest and just goes out there and plays his game. You can count on him when you need him most. I expect him to be a consistent contributor for this team and obviously Dunleavy feels the same.
