<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I'm glad to be back in Boston," said Banks yesterday. "I never wanted to go anywhere in the first place. I was a little frustrated, because I was wondering, `What was the point of the deal?' But Danny explained it to me. Basically, to make the team better, he had to make moves.

"I think they could have talked to me more and let me know more. At first, I didn't know and didn't understand what was going on. It would have been better if they had broken it down and told me what was going on. I was in bed sleeping when my little brother came in and said it flashed across the screen that I had been traded. I just wanted to be informed. I just wish somebody told me something."</div>

That's a relief, I was hoping he wouldn't act like a baby about the whole situation and he would become more mature. It looks like he has which is good. Witht the way things are going he probably is going to be the starting PG on Opening Night.

Do most of you think he will be a Celtic for the beginning of the season? Im thinking about getting his jersey(celtics) and I dont want it to be a throwback right when i get it.

I think your safe to pick one up. I would have to imagine that until the Payton thing gets cleared up, Banks is going to be a Celtic. I doubt Ainge would trade him without assurances that West won't be the only point guard in camp.
However, if Payton holds a press conference and professes a change of heart and how much he can't wait to get the season started... all bets are off.

Personally, I can't wait to pick up a Gugliotta jersey... but I'm a sick, sick man. [IMG]

If I had to do a trade and could get Gary Payton, a guy who could be a Hall of Famer, and give up a young point guard, I'd make that trade all day long. For Danny and Celtics, that was going to be the best trade." </div>

Nice sign of maturity right there. Well said and it's pretty clear he understands this is a business.

Hey, a Googs jersey would be pretty cool. Good call.

This article put my heart at ease. Danny, while I do think he has a great eye for talent and is driving this team in the right direction, I think does need to learn more about the importance of chemistry and how to handle personnel issues. Seriously, if I was a GM, I would make sure that if I traded a player, they would hear it from me before anyone else. Definitely before he finds out about it through the media. Just common decency and respect, IMO.

Obviously, if Payton comes to play, he will start at the point. Either way, Banks will be competing for minutes with West, which will be good for both players. I can't wait until the season starts to see how things unfold.

And I think it's safe to buy a Banks jersey. Who knows, with Danny, it could happen, but another trade would just flat out be wrong on Ainge's part. I think that once he gets his core together, and after this season, I think it will be, Danny won't be so trigger happy making trades. I think he'll stick to his word and let these young players develop and mature together.

Yeah, I'll go nicely between the Wilkins, Radja, Battie, Barros, Williams, Billups and Mercers that I have in my closet. If only I could have gotten my hands on a DeClerque....

You know you can always personalise a jersey to the number and name of the player you want. People have been doing this a lot and now on the NBA store there's a scroll button so you can actually select any player's number and name on the Celtics roster. A Davis jersey is way hotter than a Googs one.
