Just read this following article about how the NCAA won't let teams play exhibition games against the Harlem Globetrotters. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=1862595 I just don't see how the NCAA could possibly have a problem with playing these exhibition games. They must not see money out of it or have to share money with the Trotters. Greedy pigs they are. They are taking a valuable experience away from their athletes and stealing great memories that could be had. Yup, once again the NCAA does what is best for them and not the people that they represent.
That makes me mad. The Globetrotters are a part of basketball, they are even in the hall of fame, I just went there , But, so what if it wont be the best played game, kids would love it. It would bring up memories for soem parents. lol.
This is bogus. When they want to, they play serious basketball. Last year they even beat Michigan State (of course Magic Johnson was on the Globetrotters for that game ).
If you ask me, I personally think that this is the best for the Globetrotters. When I think of the Globetrotters, I think about all of the tricks, pulling pranks on the refs, and embarassing their opponents. It just feels funny when I was watching them play serious playing agianst college teams. When I first saw it when they played Iowa a couple of years back I was watching it thinking WTF? It just seems funny when they play serious IMO.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobe-360:</div><div class="quote_post">Then if the cant play college teams who do they play.</div> The Pistons and the Lakers. Or...we can send them to the 2008 Olympics as our USA Basketball squad.

I could imagine him still playing 20 mins a game for some team today (and yes he would lose that extra 40 pounds he is carrying around now). He just loves to play the game so much, and it always shows. I couldn't think of a better player to play for the world's most famous team. If anyone can spread the game acrosst the world, it would be Magic. He's got a lifetime contract to play for the trotters in case some of you didn't know.
