well, if the hawks can't get somebody else right now, i bet they're looking for other guys next season or a change this coming december and before the trade deadline. one of them is JRichardson but i guess he's already stuck up with the warriors, he's the up-tempo guy of that team. check out the top free agents next year: 1. P Gasol(restricted FA) 2. R Allen 3. T Parker 4. JRich (restricted FA) 5. Z Ilgauskas 6. Z Randolph 7. R Jefferson 8. J Tinsley 9. Joe Johnson 10. Troy Murphy well then, BK has to ponder into this and get things done in doing of what could be better for the team. but for now, maybe BK has to check out steven hunter and mo williams into this. i think they have the will to improve and help the hawks in their rebuilding mode, opportunities for improvements is in this. i hope BK has a lot of tricks to pull out of his pocket nowadays and get moving. im sure the hawks are better than this. or pull in kenny anderson and kevin willis for a better wisdom on our younger guys riding the roster. good luck for us all anyway. Peace!
The best possible thing for the Hawks would be to let Walker walk as a FA next season and use his salary to sign Pau Gasol to a max deal that West can't afford to match. If not, almost every other player on your list is coming out of their rookie deals and could all be worth at least the MLE.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Didn't Ray Allen and Richard Jefferson both sign long-term extensions? </div> well, i think they just did and they're really on it. both of their agreements were multi millions for 3-5 years i think, so the hawks maybe pursuing the rest of the FAs available or have a sign and trade deal or offer huge bucks that any team cant match. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The best possible thing for the Hawks would be to let Walker walk as a FA next season and use his salary to sign Pau Gasol to a max deal that West can't afford to match. Pau's very much valuable to them. if the hawks cant get any reliable center this season, might as well wait for Z Ilgauskas or the talent of Z Randolph. if they cant sign a reliable point guard also this season, get tony parker or jamaal tinsley. i can't believe the hawks will b pursuing the guys who could have been in their authority; pau gasol and jamaal tinsley.
Well, looking at the moves Jerry West has made, it looks like he's not so interested in signing Gasol to a new deal. He offered Shane Battier an extension, but not Gasol, who is of more value to the Grizz. West also signed Brian Cardinal, so it looks like he is gearing up for a Gasol-less team, although you never know what Jerry has up his sleeve.

Because West signs Battier and Cardinal to small deals it means that he doesn't want Gasol? Gearing up for a Gasol-less Grizz? You need to give Jerry West a lot more credit than that. He isn't known as the best GM in the NBA for nothing. The Grizzlies don't have the money to keep Swift, but they're doing it anyway. Jerry always finds ways. Besides, Gasol has to want to come to Atlanta first, and why the hell would he want to be a Hawk? The only cities I'd worry about are New York and Miami - his favorite cities. Neither have cap room though. There's only going to be a handful of teams with enough cap room to sign him next season, and I doubt Gasol will want to go to any of them. Look for him to sign an extension. Jerry has been hinting for a long time that he'd never just let Gasol walk. If that means trading him, then so be it; at least the Grizz will get adequate compensation, but don't expect him to let Gasol walk - not gonna happen.

Gasol has proven that he cn do lots of things n scoring, rebounding and anything dat cn be listed on his stats, every little thing on him has helped in sending the grizz to the playoff picture. and jerry west is not gonna sign him up? oh crap!! where hav u been mun?!
Out of the list of free agents Tony Parker,Zach Randolph and Jamaal Tinsley seem the most attractive because there young and have playoff experience. If we let Walker walk then we need to find a big man either Randolph or trading for someone would be our options that are left. TP and Tinsley are both experienced pass first PG's and either one would be a massive help because our only PG's are Royal Ivey and Delk + Delk is more of a combo gaurd so he would be a great back up at the SG slot so we must get a big man and PG next offseason.

With the cap the team will have a max offer to him would be better than a max offer to gasol imo. The blazers managment would not put up as big a fight to keep zach as the hawks would get from west. Though getting either of those players would be a long shot if they get less than 30 wins this season. Walker may sign cheaply since its his home town.
As for Gasol, ESPN ranked him as the early #4 Free Agent for next year (1 - McGrady, 2 - Kirilenko, 3 - R.Allen, 4 - Gasol, 5 - Randolph, 6 - Redd, 7 - Parker, 8 - Abdur-Rahim, 9 - Ilgauskas). Here is what they had to say about him - <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The skinny: The former Rookie of the Year continues to improve in Memphis and Jerry West has made it clear to other teams that he intends to lock up Gasol to a long-term deal. </div>
