The Sonics have yet to make any type of significant move to really improve their team. Considering that Ray Allen is in the last year of his contract, it is important that we entertain all offers that we could get for him, in case he leaves via free agency. In the case of the Sonics sometimes you need to improve through the process of addition by subtraction. How about an Allen/Radmanovic/Daniels trade for Bender/Tinsley/Fred Jones/2005 first round draft pick?

    Supes lineup

    Tinsley/Ridnour
    Flip/Jones/FA
    Lewis/Bender
    Fortson/Collison/Evans
    Potapenko/James/Swift

    Pacers lineup

    Daniels/Johnson/Eddie Gill
    Allen/Miller
    Artest/S. Jackson/James Jones
    Foster/Radmanovic/Croshere
    O'Neal/Pollard/Harrison

Indiana would have the best bench in the league and they would have insurance if Allen decided to not to resign w/ the Pacers (I believe that he would considering that he would be on a championship caliber team). Indiana would also have a lot of cap space if Allen, Radmanovic, and Daniels all decide to leave via free agency (Vlad Radmanovic is a restricted free agent).

Seattle would have a great core of young players to build around, and a large amount of cap space for the impending free agent class of 2005. Tinsley is one of the most underrated players in the league, Bender has star potential (even though he hasn't come close to tapping into it yet), and Jones would jump at the chance of playing w/ his college buddy Luke Ridnour.

I am a big Pacers fan and i would i would do this if i was the Pacers. They get a star in Allen and the Sonics get almost all bench players and a pick.

I have Stephen Jackson backing up Artest and Allen. He remains the insurance if Ray Allen does not decide to resign w/ the Pacers.

I think that this is a good trade for the Sonics b/c all three of the players they are trading will be free agents that will demand more money the following year. The positions that they play can be easily replaced by the returning players and they are upgrading at the point w/ Tinsley. The first round draft pick will help and they will have plenty of negotiating power w/ 2005 free agents.

Great idea, although I feel that Indiana are actually on the wrong end of the deal. Allen will most likely not return, and neither might Daniels. The Pacers right now are a young team, and they would be trading away most of their youth for Allen. Bender is still full of potential even after performing under expectations since coming into the league, and though the Pacers would not look like they'd lose much for the time being, it would come back to haunt them in the future if Bender does turn into a great player. Fred Jones showed great improvement last season, and although he'll be a role player even at the peak of his career, is a very valuable piece of the Indiana roster. Tinsley is a fearless PG and a great passer, and although underrated, is still very integral to the Pacers' success. Indiana might look like strong contenders if they do this trade, but in three years when the smoke has cleared and Allen has left the team, it will become clear that Seattle had been the true winner of the deal.

hey man i've always wanted to see ray allen and reggie miller on the same team. three after three. it would be disgusting. and also the pacers just got stephen jackson an up an coming three point assasin.

plus this gives the pacers a legit sg with reggie three caliber when reggies retires.

And the super sonics would get a legitimate pg. i say go for it.

No, I don't like this trade at all! The only Sonic I would like to become a Pacer is Luke Ridnour. Maybe Ray Allen, but wouldn't want to give up that much for him.
