Ok, I'm just gonna speak my mind here so don't get too mad. Charles Barkley was a great player and gave alot to this sports. He speaks his mind by telling what he feels to anybody and doesn't care what anybody thinks about him. I've been a 76ers fan my whole life and have lived in Philly my whole life.

I was highly upset when I heard that CB was going to retire as a Sun. He started his career here and played most of it here. This is the place that embraced him as a young prospect and cheered him on for those wonderful years. I feel that this is a slap in the face to the city of Philadelphia. I also feel that Allen Iverson's antic's in the past few years swayed CB's decision to do this. If that is true Barkley is an embarassment to our city let alone icon. You should not base your decision on how one person's actions when deciding which city you'd like to go retire in. Totally ridiculous and this is why I think Barkley is a total nimrod.

    Charles Barkley = :thumbsdow :thumbsdow

True barkley does speak his mind and is outrageous andthis is what people like about him... personally he's one of my top 5 favorite players of all time. But you shouldn't not like a player because he did not choose to retire in the city which he started his career...

I got to say I like Charles Barkley and is one of my top 5 players of all time. He was a very fun to watch play and is the best halt-time announcer IMO. HEs got a sense of humor. Even though hes slapping us in the face, I feel he had more succes and fame in Phoenix. Even thoguh I'm mildly upset about this, If I were Sir Charles right about now, I would too retire as a Sun. I think that most people who enjoy basketball will remember him as a Sun. Even though in Philly he was my favorite player, I still feel like this. My 2nd FAvorite Sixer of all-time next to Iverson.

Phoenix was the City Charles had the best time. Not Philly or Houston(my god if it was). When the Suns had BArkley it was the only time I ever enjoyed watching them. He took them to the Finals also, but was only foiled by the might MJ. I'll say it again.

IF I was Charles Barkley, I would retire my jeresy as a Sun................

I personally dont like Barkely much. He totaly diss respected our franchise when he asked for a trade and just basically gave up on us. He is way to open minded like that time he yelled at that lady on tv because she was insulting michael jackson. Although I do have to say he is a great guy in terms of being devoted to the game he has never really left the game of basketball and still continues to carry it close to his heart now that he is what like in his 40's.

Also he can not play glof for s*** has anyone seen his golf swing that is mad funny. ANyway back on topic I think he is one of the greatest sixers of all time no question abvout it, but do I like him no. Do I respect him for the way he played his years here as a sixers yes. Now do I like the way he ended it absolutely not.

He said he was a better player in Philly...a way better player...but he was considered a "great player" in pheonix because the chem. with Majerle, KJ, etc.

Come on, he made it all the way to the Finals with that team.

    Like

He was a great player, he had tons of energy and emotion on the court.
Nowadays, as a reporter, he still has a little energy, and if he has any feelings he shares them... with everyone. lol. Hes not afraid to speak his mind.. Tahts a good thing, you can't be a softy and lie to everyone, lol. He doesn't care what people say about him or if they dislike him. Another good thing, the only person you should ever worry about not liking you is yourself.

He gets a  from me! [IMG]
