As a raps fan, I wouldn't want to have Kidd on my team personally, because he's 31 with cronic knee problems. Also we won't have a clutch goto guy anymore, even though NJ didn't either.

I dont think the raps will trade rafer alston considering they just signed him as well as the fact that he has a good feel of the team and its players already as he played there the season before miami he will probably be able to still have some chemistry with the guys. As well as the fact he loves the city of toronto and that is why he signed with them I rmemeber a and 1 game a while back were he was saying how he hopes he can spend his career there.

Then I dont think that the nets will trade collins because although he is not a dominating force he is there only solid big man after trading T-mac to the sixers a couple seasons back t-mac being todd maccoulch(sp?). They cant start reef at the 5 since he demands to start at the four and that was the reason for the trade request from portland. So with no 5 and a inconsistant damon stodumire running the point they will be hard pressed to win a lot of games with shaq in the east and pointbeing one of the more stacked positions in the east. Just ask toronto with out a proven consistant point guard you cant win. That was there downfall last year.

Pure Skillz is right the Nets are clearly not giving up Jason Collins, Rob Thorn is still very high on him. Portland wanted him as apart of the orginal deal to get Shareef, but Rob Thorn would not part ways and that was one of the differences, they couldnt get past. So I doubt that they would be willing to part ways with JC in this trade. Also the Nets have made it clear they want an up & coming young talent in any possible deal for Kidd. So despite the huge cap space the Nets would have after next season, a trade of those two probably wont convince the Nets.

As for the Raptors, this trade would clearly be a risk for them. Jason Kidd has clearly stated his want to be on a championship caliber team. And has even went to the point of stating the teams that he would be willing to play for next season. So for a team like Raptos to acquire a point guard, who has the history of making demands(in PHX and now in NJ) when he is upset about situation, is a big risk. Giving up Skip & VC for a potentially upset, recovering from a major surgery kidd, is to much.

Portland for their situation clearly make out like bandits in this trade. They get Vince Carter, who for their needs is a major upgrade over everything they are giving up. Shareef, clearly isnt needed on their team, so his ablity to average 20ppg is useless in Portland. He will never put up those type of # coming off the bench behind Randolph. And they have been trying to get rid of Damon for the last 2 or 3 seasons at least, ever since he fell to basically 3rd on the depth charts at the PG spot behind Pippen & McInnis a few seasons ago. He had a solid bounce back year last season, but Portland is still more then willing to part with him.And that probably makes Skip being added to the deal just a bonus.

But I think Skip would be a good fit for them. He is young enuff to where the Blazers wouldnt have to rush the developement of Telfair, who probably will need at least 2 or 3 seasons to truely be ready to run a team. Skip clearly has shown that he is willing to make improvements in his game, as shown by his improvement mainly in his shooting from his early days with the Bucks. And also his ablity to run a team. Also with Skips' experience of trying to make it in this league, and adjusting being that he like Telfair was once big on the New York High School(Cardoza) and playground seen, he could really take Telfair under his wing so to speak. And with someone for Telfair to relate to so close it will probably make the adjustment period easier for him.

So I like the trade from Portland standpoint, they get an up grade on the wing. And a nice player to play in front of Telfair for the next 2 or so seasons. But I dont like the trade much for the other 2 teams, my Nets or the Raptors.

no it wouldnt work. kidd has to have someone to pass to to be successful he wouldnt have any surefire scorer like he did with kmart and rj. he cant score more than 20 a game consistantly.

Thats a horrible trade for the Raptors.. beyond horrible, its flat out rape. Why would the Raps give the more talent than the Nets and get A LOT less in return?

I think this would be THE trade of the off-season. Even bigger than the Shaq and Tracy McGrady deals. I think New Jersey would get the most talent and ability out of this deal. And I think Toront recieves the worst end of this deal.

    bad trade for Raptors here....

    1. The Raptors lose two of their best scoring players.
    2. They also have no1 around to help Jason Kidd out.
    3. I don't think Damon Stoudamire wants to come back to Toronto.
    4. Portland and NJ recieves way too much IMO
    5. and there is no way NJ would do it without getting VC or J Rose....

I can't see this happening... DUmb move for the Raptors, VC is the Franchise player and will be around for a while. JKidd is more of a co-franchise player and will nto be around as long.

    IMO... TRADE DECLINED

well the most recet trade proposition for portland seem to be getting them in return desmond mason which is close enough for me to vince carter.Which is the reason why i made up this trade. so i'm happy. if the bucks and portland trade goes down.

The Raptors as of right now should be looking to rebuild, and many people think Chris Bosh is the future of this franchise. That just doesn't happen right here... They get a PG over 30 (some say he's the ageless type, but I disagree. Bad knees don't get better with age) with a horrible contract, role players (not to mention one that can't stay away from weed), and thats all. I know they say they want someone who can fill seats in return for VC, but getting Kidd would prove to be a bad move in the long run.

Nice try, though. One of the better trades I've seen from people using RealGM.com's Trade Checker.
