    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Actually, if he is lying about his age, China would be behind it. This age-hiding stuff has been going on for years in China's gymnastic divisions. The point in not making him reveal his age is to make him eligible for the tournaments for younger people. With a bigger guy on their team, China would have a better chance of winning.
    </div>

    International tournaments? That would be pretty underhanded. I wonder what tournaments he illegally participated in.

    I'm not sure, but that's what the Time article on him said.

    I read somewhere on <strike>www.yaomingmania.com</strike> and the posters from china said he was around 16-17 not real sure if they're accurate on his age though.
    They are after all living in China. So maybe they would know....?

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ming637:</div><div class="quote_post">Yea, he's listed as 1st overall in the 2006 draft, but some people still don't know if he was born in 1984 or 1987 and I found out China will be playing Luthiana Thrusday, 9:45 am eastern time on Bravo.</div>
    All right thanks dude! on Bravo? cool.

    Wow okay. Yi is probably really young but then again its hard to tell because his face looks young and he's really skinny. So he could be still growing into his body or it could be just that China, like a lot of international teams, lack modern day weight training regimen for their players so they just have skinnier bodies. Also could be diet.
