76ers Rank 15th In Power Rankings <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> KEY ADDS: Jim O'Brien, Brian Skinner, Andre Iguodala Allen Iverson, Glenn Robinson and Derrick Coleman combined to miss 112 games last year while Samuel Dalembert and Willie Green emerged as legit talents; could be top five in the East.</div> <div align="center">Link</div> We'll at least someone thinks we could accomplish something if we're healthy. ESPN predicted that we wouldn't even make the Playoff's.
I agree the sixers have all that it takes to go far if they stay healthy. Think about it for a second with those 112 missed games. Yet the 76ers were in the playoff hunt until the last week of the season. That is without there two leading scorers for the second part of they year in AI and glenn robinson. AI will be moved to his semi natural positon of point guard this season meaning the sixers will be better to fit defensive matchups then they were before. Also they will be more of a run and gun team now that runs the break very well since AI is a fast player and generates alot of steals during a game. Also they got iggy a lottery pick for a team that imo was never really meant to be in the lottery if not for the injuries so your adding a pretty good rookie 2 guard/ small forward to a team with alot of depth at that spot. It will be a very good year if everyone stays healthy who knows mabye 2004-05 surprise team of the year.
The Sixers will go far if they stay healthy,we have made a few changes to the team and it looks like a new era a Sixer basketball is emerging. Coach Jim is starting a new team,we have a good rookie, a maturing super star,a few players on the rise and we even have underated role players. The Sixers will be a run and gun team this year and thats the style that I thnk fits them the best.To me I see the Sixers being like the NJ Nets when they went to the finals. I dont know if the Sixers will go far this year but they have a bright future if they keep the team together, IMO.
We got bigger and more athletic this year, both of which we needed. I still wish we had someone bigger than 7 feet on the roster. Either way, I think we should get a good seed in the playoffs.
The sixers will go far in the East with this line-up but if we add some more people during this offseason without losing any of out key players i say we could go pretty far in the East all we have to worry about is maybe Pistons,Heat,Pacers i don't think NJ will be a threat this year with the loss of K-mart they will still be good but not like they were, so maybe the top 3 seeds if healty if not maybe 5th or 6th.
The sixers will do fine in the east, like the list reads, the only three teams I see dominating us are Pistons, Pacers, and Heat. But that is only because the other teams in the east are soooo bad and most of them have either done nothing to improve their roster, or has downgraded like New Jersey. So yea, a very legitimate shot for a number four finish in the regular season.
then the sixers r guaranteed the third spot cuz if they have better record than everybodyelse in the atlantic division then we'll be the division leader behind the pistons and heat, and the pacers r prob be 4th since they wont win the division title
With our divison I think we can go to the 4th or 5th spot in the playoffs and possibly make a run...Dare I say this but did Billy King actually have a pretty good offseason :suspicous
We were ranked 17th a couple of weeks ago by Aldredge, now 15th, pretty good stuff. We have a solid team, if no injuries pertain, we could very well reach the second round.
Will you guys and girls please go check this guys East predictions out, there are hilarious. Look where he places NY, Phila, and Chicago. Link : http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...ed=1#post298823

The pacers can not be number 2 unless they win there division then the pistons cant be number 1 if they do that you have to place the 3 top seeds as division winners.
Sasha, by me or that guy? And Pure Skillz my predictions aren't seedings, they were just all round best teams.
David Aldridge ranks our off-season The Sixers are trying to cut costs, but they're doing it while adding solid players for new coach Jim O'Brien. Obie's presence is the bigger deal. If the Sixers gravitate to him half as much as his Celtics players did, you won't hear any more talk about trading Iverson. It says here that O'Brien will get through to Iverson the same way that Brown did his first two or three seasons, and when the coach and star are on the same page, everyone else has to fall in line. Philly's trying to get back to the annoying defensive style that got them to the Finals -- which just happens to be the way that O'Brien wants to play. Swingman Iguodala fits the mold perfectly -- athletic and long -- and Skinner, in his second go-round in Philly, should help Sam Dalembert on the glass. Philly still has too many holes to be a real contender in the East, but the slide toward the bottom should stop.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Avery:</div><div class="quote_post">This is a little out dated. July 22, was a little over a month ago. Not to mention, this was already posted. But still nice to see that you're on the lookout.</div> I was about to say why is Williamson not ranked in significant additions. Anyway I think after getting Williamson the Sixers have moved to within the top ten teams this off season a couple are before them like the suns, mavs, pistons, jazz, nuggets, heat, etc. I think they can probably win the division title with there current team if they add another big man or make a big trade involving Glenn Robinson leaving and getting possibly a Shareef in return they will then be a lock to win the division. Right now the only team that may give them some trouble is the Knicks since they got Crawford and resigned Vin Baker they have not lost much this off season , but have gained a good scorer. I am hoping that Crawford's horrible shooting will get in the way of the Knicks making them selves a serious threat.

I defiantly see some confusion within this ball club. And obviously the two suspects are going to be Marbury and Crawford. On paper, this team looks like the favorite to win the Atlantic Division imo. However this team is full of big names and I just don't see them meshing well to a certain degree where they're capable of winning the division. That?s just what I think.
