Dahntay is an great talent sitting on the bench in Memphis. He didn't much last year, and won't this year. The Grizzlies are loaded at the 2 and 3 posistions with Miller, Wells, Posey, Battier, Cardinal, and Jones himself. Hubie plays with a 10 man rotation, which does not include Dahntay. Even if he packages some of those players in a deal to get Curry or Damp, Dahntay still will not have a role on the club.

Jones would be a great edition to the Raptors if we could acquire him. He could be a backup to Rose and VC, with Mo', and would get more PT than he would in Memphis. He's very versitle and will be an upgrade over Lamond and Mason Jr. The price I assume must be cheap. If we could trade away Jerome Moiso and a possible or future 1st rounder or 2nd rounder, I think that could do it. He's also good friends with VC, not that it matters, but I don't think Carter will reject a trade to get him here. Even though we have Murray on the books for this year and next year, I think he'll be a tradeable asset after this summer, because his contract will be considered an expiring contract with one season left on it.

I wouldn't give a first rounder for another swingman that we don't need. I'm a Duke fan and I liked him there but he would not help this team as much as Moiso would.

The Raps have their fair share of swingmen, and Jones still has too much upside in him to be traded so easily, although Jerry West won't say no to a reasonable offer. The bottomline right now is that Toronto doesn't need Jones, although he would be a good piece to have on any team.

Yea I undestand that we don't necessarily need him, but the price could be cheap on him, and with Alvin and Carters injury problems, he could be a good edition. Miller, Posey, Battier and Cardinal are locked up to long term contracts so I'm saying he won't be that hard to get. He'll get reasonable playing time, more than in Memphis. And if Alvin or Carter get hurt, he'll be a 8th player or so off the bench, because Rose will be the backup to Alston, even though he would be starting, and Jones and Mo will take Carters and Rose place when Alstons off. It's just a theory I put out, because in my view he could be a gem and the price on him isn't that high.
