I hate Rick Fox too , but I don?t see any one go around saying im racist against black people. Jeez????. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Wow, just when I thought that there are actually decently non-stupid people out there, you show up. Well sir you, are an idiot edit: wrong. #1. Have you heard of the uh, that one good team, Minnesota T-Wolves? Do you know who Sam Cassell is? Now THAT is an uglier person. If you think Yao is ugly then what does that make Sam? And I'm sure you're such a good looking person too #2. His game is ugly huh. That's why everyone and ANYone that knows ANYthing about basketball says that he's a good player with a nice shooting touch and even did the Dream shake. So you're implying that Hakeem's game is ugly? Come on kid, don't be a retard edit: turd. I'll let this idiocracy slide once, but if you say anything remotely as retarded as that post, you're gonna lose any basketball cred that you have (or what's left of it now). Anybody that knows bball and respect bball skills will not say the things you said about Yao. I edited some things per a mod's request. Be glad I don't make you break down in tears Ace. </div> #1 I don?t mainly hate Yao because he is ugly. I may have looked that way, but heres the main reason. Yao Ming is such an overrated player. Whenever I see some one wearing a Yao jersey they usually know jack bout basketball. Example: Today was the first day of school. I see some dude wearing a Yao Jersey. I ask him ?Do you know any player on the Rockets bbesides Yao Ming? The kid takes a minute to think about it. A minute later he screams ?STEVE FRANCIS?! BTW this is a true story. Yao has also never impressed me yet. 24 years old the supposedly 2n d best center in the league. Isn?t capable of averageing a double double. Way too inconsistent. Wheres as some like LeBron James has proven himself to me. Coming into the league as a 19 year old rookie averaging 20-5-5 is extremely hard. O yeah Sam Cassell has also learned my repect. #2 Why does Hakeem get in to this. O well just makes my argument easier. Hakeem is one of the best defensive centers of all-time. Yao is not. Hakeem has won MVPS. Yao has not. Hakeem has led his team to back to back titles. Yao has not. Get the picture. O yeah if you say Yaos only been in the league for 2 years read this. Yao Rookie Stats 13.5 PPG 8.2 RPG 1.7 APG 1.79 BPG .489% FG(only impressive stat) Hakeem Rookie Stats 20.6 PPG 11.9 RPG 1.4 APG 2.68 BPG .538 FG% By looking at this I conclude that Hakeem had a better future and is better. And O yeah I?m really breaking into tears buddy :rollseyes? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> You're the same guy who im'ed me and started swearing, attacking me and talking about Yao. I let him use my account a little bit to **** with people and he found you on my list probably because of some mock trade, so he went and curse Ming off. Sorry Ming. Ace, #1. If you read over your post, anyone that reads it will automatically assume that at least half the reason you hate Yao is because he's ugly. Read your own post again and you'll see. #2. I wasn't comparing their stats, I was comparing their "style" of playing. Remember how you said his game is ugly? Again, if you read carefully, I said that Yao did a little Dream shake and that's what Hakeem did. So, I was just trying to make the connection that their "STYLE" not their STATS, have a little similarity. Sure Yao hasn't been capable of averaging a double double yet but do you take into account all the hardships he has to endure? Let me list some of them for you: -When he first came, he was barely 22 years old. Think about it, at 22 years old you probably just graduated college or going into your college senior year. That's young. -A rookie averaging 13.5ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.79bpg is a SOLID rookie's stats. Not to mention he also almost won the ROY award. -Different style of playing: Yao had to adjust to a different style of playing that is obviously so different that even the NBA couldn't adjust to it in time despite being superiorly bigger and more athletic. -Different language/culture: This is a no brainer. Imagine if you're an american and the NBA is played in China. And you're only 22 with no friends around. You would've been VERY confused and I bet that sometimes you'd feel depressed. -He is forced to play basketball all the time: Yao is playing competitive basketball ALL the time. He has not been given a chance to rest and recuperate. For a big man, some sort of rest is very important. While Shaq and Brad Miller and all those other big Cs sit down and rest up so they can start the season all fresh, Yao had to go to the Olympics and CARRY his team on his own. Pretty impressive if you ask me that with the lack of talent that China had, Yao still got them into the quarterfinals. Those are just some examples. Think about those hardships before you diss on Yao again. Even though he's overrated, using the word "hate" is pretty extreme. Plus, the guy's improving. 17.5ppg, 9rpg, 1.9bpg already in only his 2nd year - Not bad at all if you ask me. Open up your mind and stop being so racist.

I'd bet that if you see someone wearing an Iverson jersey, there'd be a fair chance that they'd know jack about the NBA too. You're saying an All-Star center, who also by coincidence averages a solid 17 and 9 doesn't impress you. Yet Dwyane Wade, who's one of your favorite players, averages worse stats, and he gets your respect? You say Yao's inconsistent, but is Wade any more consistent than he is? Obviously, you follow certain NBA stars solely because they get a lot of respect on JBB, because you don't know how to appreciate true talent.

But saying you can't stand him because he's over-rated seems kind of silly to me. He has never exaggerated his own abilities. When he was voted as a starter to the All-star game, he flat out said that Shaq deserved it instead. He's one of the most humble "superstars" out there. You certainly can't say that about Lebron James who is also extremely over-rated at this stage in his career. Lebron James and modesty don't belong in the same sentence. Oh, and just so you know, saying you can't stand a guy because you think he's ugly comes off as very shallow. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">#2 Why does Hakeem get in to this. You described Yao's game as ugly, and the person correctly said that his post moves are reminiscent of Hakeem's. Yao is slower, obviously, but he has displayed more quickness and gracefulness on the offensive end then any other center over 7'3" who has played this game. Perhaps you haven't seen enough of his games to realize this, but that is the truth. But whether or not you think his game is pretty is a matter of opinion, so there's not much point arguing about it. I've watched Yao extensively the past few seasons, and there are very few big men I'd rather see play. This may not change your opinion, but if you want to hear what NBA players/coaches think of Yao, read this: What They're Saying About Yao
