I say it's BS, but: <div class="quote_poster">Quoting "http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/orl-sptnbacon23082304aug23,1,1037219.story?coll=orl-sports-headlines":</div><div class="quote_post"> Don't be surprised to hear word that Pat Riley and the Miami Heat are pursuing Memphis point guard Jason Williams, the former University of Florida player. New center Shaquille O'Neal has encouraged it, which is more than a little significant. Getting Williams would allow Riley to use up-and-coming star Dwyane Wade as a shooting guard, which is his natural position, instead of at point, where he tried to play as a rookie last season. Part of the deal would include Miami sending small forward Eddie Jones and either Damon Jones or Keyon Dooling to Memphis, who might throw in James Posey to make it work. It's no coincidence that O'Neal and Williams are Central Florida neighbors with homes in Islesworth. Williams early in his career was both praised and criticized for his flashy style of play, but he has toned it down enough that he would work well with O'Neal. Together, they could make the Heat a joy to watch.</div> I think it's pretty ridiculous. How is James Posey a throw in? He's our best player! Oh well, keep sleeping world. That's a ridiculous trade, though. I like Damon Jones enough, but Williams and Posey for EJ and him? Posey's better than EJ who is over the hill and overpaid, and Eboy > Jones. Dooling? Hahaha. I have no idea why he thinks that the Grizzlies would do anything other than laugh at that offer. And that man gets paid to cover the NBA.
I totally agree. When I first saw this Monday night I just laughed. No way will this happen. Why would we give up 2 of our starters for a couple of players that could possibly not even see that much playing time. Sure Eddie Jones is a player but would you give up Posey for him....... I think not. Jerry West was GM of the year for bringing in players like Posey. I don't see him letting go of Jwill or Posey.
No chance. If this does happen, I am abandoning all the faith I have in Jerry West. The part about Posey being a throw in cracked me up. Anyway, the last I heard Eddie Jones was a team cancer, an overpaid player on the decline, and someone who the Heat were trying desperately to trade. Why would we trade two of our three best players for him all of a sudden?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JAXON:</div><div class="quote_post">I hope this trades happen so I could see JWILL 30 times on TV!</div> I could not agree more.
Posey and Willams are our better players. It would be a real stupid move on Jerry's part to trade them.
