It's looking more and more like Darren Sharper won't be in Green Bay next year. He picked the wrong time to have an "off year." I don't think his cap number is conducive to him staying around and he's said he doesn't want to take a pay cut or sign an incentive-based contract. I personally don't care if he stays or goes at this point. The Packers have plenty of needs and the $4 million in cap space we'd save could plug a lot of holes.
Just saw this one, Sharper is still very good, he was hurt for about 5 games and was limited to situational packages, he is still one of the top safties in the league I hope he stick around, I think that Bates would like a saftey like him.
I like Sharper. He is so smart. He does thoses smart plays. He knocked the ball out of da offensive lines mens hand once and ran for a TD when the lineman thought the play was dead cause 2 ppl were hurt.
Maybe we should trade Sharper to the Cards for Shelton...since we're going to lose at least one Guard this off-season. Shelton could replace Wahle. I'd like Sharper to stay, but not if he's going to be that expensive...
He's supposed to be restructuring his contract as we speak, and I would rather have Whale than Rivera, Whale is younger and in my view slightly better.
Yes, I'd much rather have Wahle... But there's no way we're going to be able to keep him. This is going to be his big payday.
I suppose your right, I just hope we resign Kevin Berry he may be able to pick up some of the slack in Whale's place, but im not sure he has the stamina being close to 400 pounds! Id like them to keep him anyways if not for anything else but for that U-71 Heavy Package were he comes in as a Tight End and blocks, no one can get around him!
i want reviera to stay. He is one..wait my only Favriote linemen...o ya and flanagon. sorry i cant spell.
Hell, I'd go to the Vikings too! They had a great year last year (relatively) and they're really improving their team this off season. He'd definitely start and they are way under the salary cap. If anyone can pay him the ridiculous amount of money he wants, the Vikes can.
