Well, what do we have to look forward to next as Warriors fans. The offseason is pretty much over, I assume. Summer league is over. When does the preseason start? I guess I will just have to settle for football...

Seems like he did not do very well in the summer league. I think we have a full squad anyways and are loaded the PF/C positions...

sign Cisse- good young talent and turning 22 this october, was 6-9 two years ago and is prolly around 6'10 or 6'11 now and has a lot of power/muscle to bang down low...

perfect pickup for 14th man on the roster for the min. salery, leaving 1 roster spot open in a trade or if someone good gets waived(like junero Pargo)....

The preseason starts in about 6 weeks, and training camp will probably open a week or so earlier than that. There's not much more to do as far as the offseason unless some blockbuster trade gets proposed, since our roster (and injured reserve) are both full. The main things will be deciding whether Flores and Sekularac are worth deals and a spot. The rest is going to be left up to the coach and the players to train and play well.

I did not know preseason was so close. When does the actual season start?

    Zhone,

Sekularac is staying over seas for at least another year, he signed an 1 year extension mid-way thru his last season, and w/ flores(he will make the team) and l8ner we have a 14 man roster:

    Speedy/Fisher/Flores(IR)
    Jrich/Pietrus/Chaney
    Dunleavy/Najera
    Murphy/Robinson/L8ner(IR)
    Foyle/Davis/Bierdens

mullin seems very intent on buying out l8ner which would make us have a 13 man team and picking up a big man like cisse or another would be very good in case of injury:

    Speedy/Fisher/Flores(IR)
    Jrich/Pietrus/Chaney
    Dunleavy/Najera
    Murphy/Robinson/Cisse(IR)
    Foyle/Davis/Bierdens

Ahh, I didn't know that Sekularac wanted to stay in Europe another year. I thought that if Mullin liked him enough and offered him a good deal the possibility to place a buyout existed. The Warriors keep his exclusive rights as long as he's playing on a foreign team, plus a year, unless the CBA changes next year on that issue.

Any word on the training camp invitee rosters? I doubt that they're entirely finished, anyway.

Sekularac actually signed a one year contract with Buducnost a month before the trade. I think part of the issue will be convincing him to come and play in the states, which may necessitate a guaranteed contact, as he hasn't come back to play in the Summer leagues since he's been drafted.

I don't think Sekularac can play a 2 in the NBA can he? If he plays a 3 he'll be pretty undersized unless he hits the gym hard. BTW we should convince Murphy to re-sign now for injury purposes. We'll give him a fair contract and security in case he gets a prolonged injury during the season. In return we then only have one restricted free agent to worry about (Jrich) and a valuable trade piece in Murphy if some team is asking for him. Also Murphy could be a valuable piece starting or off the bench as he seems to find his shot pretty quickly in a game.

if we could get murphy to a 7 year 68 million deal that would be very good, looking at what jefferson got(7 year 76 million) and that there are many able small fowards who run the florr like jefferson, murphy is a proven double double guy when healthy and that figure definatly seems fair...

Big men 6'11 end up getting 10 mil anyway. I was hoping for a little bit less pricey contract extension. But I guess if you want to lock Murphy up now he just might sign for the right price.

I see no reason to lock up Murphy now. Especially for a big long term contract like that when basically, he really has not proven himself. He had 1 decent year. A double is not great. Not $78m great for sure. I would sign him to a 4 year, $20m deal. Otherwise, lets wait this year out and see if he lives up to the hype you guys are putting on him. If he does, great, sign him. If he does not, then you save yourselves 7 years of kicking yourselves in the butt.

A double double is great considering he had Arenas and Jamison always shoot the ball the minute they crossed the half court line. Give Murph some credit. He's a good fundamentals player and he plays tough. We sured missed his rebounding last year. How many big men are there in the nba that can pass, rebound, hit free throws and shoot at least as good as Murphy? There aren't. I still got high hopes for him. Sure we have Biedrens but he could take 4 years to develop and I'd rather lock up Murphy so we can use him off the bench if Biedrens turns out to be a star.

Forgive me for not giving Murphy more credit. I only get to watch so many games out here in CO. From what I have seen of Murphy is he has a great 18ft jumpshot. He is not afraid to take it to the rack, but only does that if the lane is wide open. He would rather take a jumper. He is great at rebounding. He is not the typical PF that I would like to see. I think the perfect PF was Malone in his days.

Murphy is exactly the type of player we should be locking up, tough, nice shooting touch, great rebounder in traffic, team player, hustles, will go to the rack, and with size. He was hurt last year, yes, but he never bitched or moaned. 5yrs, 20M? I wish. No way, he gets at least near the max. Look at what Dampier got; Jumaine Jones gets $40M. Eschemeyer got 20M for a quarter of a season.

I like what Mullin has done to this team, it has a vision and is on the right track. I am genuinely excited this year. They may not improve that much in the standings but they will improve on giving us fans hope for the future.

He won't try to do things he can't do. If he can be a dominant post player as an oversized power forward then he can be something special. But I don't know what to expect from this guy. He's still young. Walker called him Dirk Nowitzki lite because of his shooting and rebounding, so you never know what this guy can do under a new system of offense and a solid veteran point guard in Derek Fisher and a pure floor general in Claxton (two members of championship teams btw).

Full warrior games would probably eat all the bandwidth and more seriously, violate those express written agreement rights to show a game in any part. (I can hear that announcer guy right now!)

Murphy's value right now is simply unreliable. Neither he or the W's would consider hammering out a solid offer so early. I'm sure he feels like he has to earn it, and the W's want to see that Murphy is healthy. My best guess is that he'll command about $6-7 million per year after his rookie contract, probably for 3-4 years.
