I'm not here to diss on the Heat or anything, so don't worry. About Shaq...he is skinnier. Now, is it because he's working on it, or is it because he's aging? Hmmm...lol! Anyways...the problem with this is that I really don't understand how he slimmed down so quickly, but had problems doing this in Los Angeles. The way I see it, he was gaining all of this weight because he wanted out of Los Angeles and felt uncomfortable there. It's just ironic, and I know all of the Heat fans will say that it's because he wants a ring...but what does that matter? He wanted one in Los Angeles...Ron Artest wants one, Steve Nash wants one, Jason Kapono wants one...doesn't matter where they are at. Shaq was at 340 lbs I believe, when he left the Laker organization. I guarantee he lost alot of it just by the looks in his neck and arms...so apparently he's not being lazy anymore only because (IMO) he wants that contract extension the Heat are already talking about. In other words, Shaq is who cost us the title in the playoffs...he didn't block anyone's shot driving the lane, and he wasn't ripping down rims like he should've been...and Ben Wallace isn't THAT good of a defender to stop Shaq like he did in the playoffs. I think it was all laziness, and being out of shape...because notice how guys are saying he slimmed down, so apparently he was pretty damn big when he was in LA and it showed.
I remember shaq discussing that he will be focusing on cardios rather than lifting weights this year because "ppl get scared when they see me getting bigger" i believe is what he said. I prefer cardios for him because he will be able to maintain his stamina longer and can start moving faster up and down the court. realdeal, it's the chicken and the egg theory, did he screw the lakers over first or did the lakers screw him over first? he obviously felt he was screwed over first so he started slacking off and doing everything possible to make the team suffer, so it's good that you guys got rid of him so he doesn't bring the team down.

A Shaq with more stamina will be like one back in the Magic days...yet he never won a ring that way. If you remember right, Shaq was dominated by Hakeem Olajuwon, and that's one reason he started putting on more muscle. Maybe this will be good for him, or be his last straw...who knows at this point. Heat fans, just hope the new Shaq doesn't get injured attempting to try 200x harder than he did in LA. Also...say Shaq was being hit as hard as he has been since he's been with Los Angeles. That spells injury for him...don't wanna wish bad luck on the Heat organization though...
His body stature looks smaller. He's all muscle...I don't see any fat on him on or off the court. I wasnt really paying attention to him today...Anyone see Christina Milian and Beyonce? Damn.
realdeal, Ben Wallace didn't stop Shaq at all in teh Finals... if you check the stats, you'll see who really got stopped... cough Kobe. Btw, on TV Shaq looks alot skinnier than he does in those pictures. SCrew Milian and Beyonce, you see Alicia Keys and Jessica Simpson? wow

Where were Shaq's 40-point games in the finals? Haha...he did them so "easily" against the big STARS Todd MacCullough, Dikembe Mutombo and Rik Smits in the 3 Finals that he won "for the Lakers"...so why didn't he do it against Wallace? Shaq's a joke. Kobe had to play against Iverson, Kidd/Kittles, and Reggie...but nobody sees his efforts on the court. Oh well...the huge impact Wade had last year on the Heat will be the greatest thing of his career...because with Shaq, his NBA career will be tainted for good.

And on the offensive end, shaq did not get the ball enough... i did not see the "give kobe the ball with 2 seconds left" thing, i saw kobe "dribble and try to create until theres 2 seconds left, then force a shot"... and im sure thats what most people saw (even all of my kobe fanboy friends out here in LA admit to this). Shaq dropping 40 on mutumbo is actually quite a feat, he is one of the greatest defenders of all time, and when shaq was dominating him, he was still a top tier defender... he was actually defensive player of the year that year.

Kobe can play bad sometimes. Why you gotta blame Shaq for Kobe's bad outing? Geez...even Kobe admitted that T Prince played a heluva defense on him.

It's both of their faults...I never actually said that Kobe played incredible games. Point is, Shaq and Kobe couldn't do it, even with Malone and Payton...so how does the Heat expect Shaq and Wade to get to the Finals? It's a huge, HUGE step, and it was with Kobe/Shaq even after working for 3 years unsuccessfully.

I figured their would be a topic on this since I got to watch the replay last night. And was thinking exactly the same thing as everybody else that he had slimmed down quite a bit. He looks to be 305 or something. it seems that he really is determined to actually get a championship with the Heat. Not saying that's gonna happen, but he is determined it appears. Off basketball, this year's VMA's was weird because of no host. Dave Chappelle was really serious about having 99 jobs but hosting ain't one Hit Me!

But i actually liked this years vmas. everything just kept coming at you i thought it was pretty cool. I think they had everything set up so well to just flow intoeach other chappelle wasnt really needed. but he said a couple good jokes during the vmas when he was there. usher started getting on my nerves anyone else. i couldve sworn i heard a lady tell him to shut the heck up, when he kept jabbering on and the crowd was chanting fior luda to talk. he wouldnt let anyone else talk whenever he got on the stage.

Shaq's a joke.</div> This topic has gone way off topic, from Shaq being "skinnier", to how Ben Wallace Supposedly stopped and cotained Ben Wallace in the Finals. He was dominating in all the games, the team just didn't get him the ball. In game 2 he scored 36 points and grabbed 20 boards. The only thing I can credit Ben Wallace, is holding Shaq off the boards in Games 1, 2 and 4. Shaq would of eeeasily reached 50 points if his teammates would actually give him the ball more and if Kobe stop shooting bricks after playing with the ball for 10 seconds. Game 1: 7/13, 20 Points Game 2: 16/21, 36 Points Game 3: 7/14, 14 Points - 2 FTA's Game 4: 10/20, 29 Points Game 5: 13/16, 34 Points Finals Stats: 26.6 PPG, .631 FG%, .49 FT%, 10.8 RPG It doesn't seem like Ben Wallace contained him, other from the games I mentioned from the Games. 63% from the Field is pretty efficient. He only had 38 less FTA's in one less game than the previous round, which shows that his team didn't get him the ball enough when it counted. Shaq did his share in the Finals and could've done more if given the oppurtunity by his teammates, but that didn't happen. I just wanted to clear that up, try to stay on topic.
