If we were to stay on topic "exactly" as you would like for us to do, everyone would be posting, "Yeah, he's skinnier now" or "No, he's still big" and that's about it. I'm simply stating how he started getting lazy and fat, and how he went from being a HUGE factor in the previous Finals to a HUGE piece of mass laying in the paint last year, eating up the salary cap.

Point is, Shaq's skinnier and it's only ironic, because he tipped the scales at 340 lbs in Los Angeles. Now, suddenly, he's losing weight and enthusiastic about winning again? What a joke.

    Nobody avoided the topic.

That's the whole point of the thread, to get other opinions on whether Shaq looks skinner to these members or not.

I can see how you're simply stating this by leaving a cheap shot towards him at the end to carry on this OT conversation.

Shooting over 63% In the Finals, when it counts the most and being your teams leading scorer in limited shot attempts compared to previous years, leading rebounder and biggest reason why they got to the finals doesn't happen by laying in the paint.

    Well, we'll see.

Shaq has never won a championship by himself, and neither has Kobe...but Shaq had from 1992-1996 to do it (even though Hardaway was there), and he failed. Now it's Kobe's turn...and I hope he shuts everyone up.

Shaq can weigh in at 275 lbs and I still wouldn't be impressed. His days are numbered in the league.

Man thats screwed up the way you and some laker fans are treating Shaq now that he has left LA and all getting on the Kobe band wagon. Truth is Shaq may never have won a title without Kobe, but he has gotten to the finals without him while Kobe if you look back at the 2002-03 season could not handle the leader role when Shaq was out.

I see Shaq's next title coming way before Kobe's and personally just because of some people and the way there acting like Kobe is superior to Shaq I am starting to hope he never wins another title though at the age of 25 he probably will have enough shots at it. If Shaq was such a small part of the Lakers team and Kobe is the "leader" and all that matters how come I dont here many Laker fans promising a visit to the finals this year like they dd when Shaq was there. Not to mention who has 3 Finals MVP.

Thx!!! Exactly what I'm saying man. I wonder how they were Lakers fan when Shaq was there. Don't tell me you were only Lakers fan ONLY cuz of Kobe. Face it, realdealbneal, you know you were rooting for Shaq when they won rings. Dont tell me you booed him everytime he scored. Don't tell me you hated Shaq back then too. You could just say something like "well Shaq was great but he has left us. I wish him best luck..." That seems like better sportsmanship minded fan. I'm not an Eddie Jones fan but I dont go around bashing about EJ because I'm a Heat fan and EJ plays for the Heat. And that will stay the same even if EJ chose to leave the Heat.

oOSLuGOo, please don't turn this into another Shaq/Kobe debate thing it will turn 50 pages long.

I am a Laker fans and most Laker fans appreciate what he did for L.A but dislike him due to his work ethic (which seems to have improved now that he is in Miami and has revenge on his mind) but its kind of stupid that it took something like this to motivate him wheras we wouldn't even be in this situation in the first place if he had just decided to stay in shape and work out harder rather then let his weight overtake him and be slow and not play hard at all.

I haven't seen him that skinny since the early days in LA. Also, please don't turn this into a Kobe and Shaq debate.

Shaq and Kobe both are great players. Theres no need to judge who's better than whom, who's spoiled whom, who's ruined whose career.

because kobe is on the shadow of shaq. when shaq got injured they lost a lot of games, but we'll see how the first season goes without shaq hopefully it's a successful one

Shaq is actually working out. I'm happy for him, I just wish he would stop hating.

Probably the best shape I have seen him in since his rookie season. He needs to get down to 285 and then I would say he just extended his bball career at least 3 more seasons.

285?? I don't think he'll lose that much unless he gets Liposuction. Besides, you want him to <u>keep</u> one of the reasons why he is the most dominant in the league, not kill it.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">
In other words, Shaq is who cost us the title in the playoffs...he didn't block anyone's shot driving the lane, and he wasn't ripping down rims like he should've been...and Ben Wallace isn't THAT good of a defender to stop Shaq like he did in the playoffs. I think it was all laziness, and being out of shape...because notice how guys are saying he slimmed down, so apparently he was pretty damn big when he was in LA and it showed.</div>

Shaq costing the Lakers the title? It was'nt the Wallaces either who were really destroying the Lakers. It was mostly Rip and Chauncy and Shaq could'nt really do anything with their fast breaks. Shaq did block shots too. Kobes defense was also disapointing for a All Defense Teamer. Ben Wallace did'nt really slow Shaq down on the offensive end either.

    Game 1
Kobe BRyant: 25 Points 10/27 Shooting Hon. Stats: 4 Steals, 2 Blocks
Shaq: 34 Points 13/16 Shooting Hon. Stats: 11 Rebounds
Kobes missed 17 shots cost them the game if I had to pick out of the 2. If Kobe were to feed Shaq the ball about 7 more times we would have about 12 more points and force it into over-time. If Kobe were to shoot the same percentage as Shaq he would've scored about 44 Points in this game. THis game actually IMO was none of their faults but the rest of the Lakers faults. But Shaq is the only one that made me impressed in this game.

    Game 2
Kobe Bryant: 33 Points 14/27 Shooting Hon. Stats: 7 Assist, 2 Steals
    Shaq: 29 Points 10/20 Shooting
A great ggame by both of them. This was the one game Kobe did good in and Shaq id great too even though it wasn't one of his best games. If Kobe shot like that every game the Lakers would've won.

    Game 3
Kobe Bryant: 11 Points 4/11 Shooting
    Shaq: 14 Points 7/14 Shooting
Both of them had a horrible game but at least Shaq had a good percentage from the field. Nothing much to say here, THey both sucked.

    Game 4

    Kobe: 20 Points 8/25 Shooting
    Shaq:36 Points 16/21 Hon. Stats: 20 REBOUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SHAQ IS A BEAST IN HERE. His best game of the play offs. Too bad it ended up as a loss because of Kobe and maily the rest of the Lakers. Kobe shot about .333 % and that just sucks. If Kobe shot Shaqs percentage he would've scored about 40 Points. KObe needs to feed it to Shaq more and stop bricking it.

    Game 5
    Kobe: 24 Points 7/21 Shooting
    Shaq: 20 Points 7/13 Shooting
WEEEEE! Another .333 FG % game for Kobe, what a surprise. None of them had that an impressive game but Kobes FG % just sucked.

I'm not hating on Kobe or anything, in fact hes a great player and I even have his jersey. I'm just saying Kobe cost them the series NOT SHAQ. Shaq is the las person on the Lakers roster who you should put the blame on. Kobes horrible shot selection is the mian reson and another reason is the lack of help from the role-players.

BTW: It's nice to see that Shaq has lost weight. He is more determined than ever and always remember one thing, Never underestimate the heart of a champion. Shaq is going to have a MVP type season and will be in the running for it. He probably won't win it though just because every one always hates on him.

ACtually in game 2 Shaq would've had a great game... if they gave him the ball. Sam with Game 5.

But for the 100th time, this is Shaq at VMA's thread not Kobe Shaq comparason.
