The word is he's available, and was very nearly traded to Memphis in a deal involving Lo Wright and Bo Outlaw in return for Memphis taking back Eddie Robinson's contract. Chandler has impressed management with his work ethic too, meaning he is probably a lot safer, and the right deal could land Curry. Would you be interested, and in turn what would you give up to get him?
I dont think the Bulls will give up Curry for anything less than a player who is/has been/ will be a all star and is in his prime. A deal to Memphis was just rumors that never got close to happening as Paxson was reluctent to give up Curry and still is the only way a deal with Memphis was going to happen was if they had sent both Wells and Swift and they said that was not going to happen.
^ Interesting you say that, the Chicago Tribune yesterday reported that a deal was actually very close to happening.

John Paxson and numerous other sources kept stating that over and over that they where not very intrested in trading Curry though it might be possible do to Robinsons contract being taken. I dont think that it is really that close to happening because newspapers usually report what makes there story more intresting like the Jason Williams to the heat along with Posey for Jones trade which was just shot down yesterday and the Paul Pierce to Chicago trade.
As long as we get rid of one of our own centers in the deal, I don't see the harm in trading for him unless we have to take on a bad contract.

We've given up many talented players before, none of which had this much potential and upside, so we might as well let Curry play in a stable environment. :shakehead Please Paxson, don't trade Curry
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> What to do with Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler? Recent trade talks with Memphis regarding Curry were legitimate and serious, with names like Lorenzen Wright and Bo Outlaw almost making the Bulls bite on a larger package involving Eddie Robinson. Team Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, who met with Curry shortly after last season to impress upon him his value to the franchise, remains a supporter. That's why he has made it clear that Paxson must receive equal value in any Curry trade.</div> <a href="http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/cs-040829bullskc,1,5328220.story?coll=cs-bulls-headlines" target="_blank"> Full Story</a> courtesy of Chicago Tribune (registration required) The Grizz becoming big players for Curry, not good for us.
Curry will be a restricted free agent after this year so I doubt that a team would be willing to give up a whole lot to get him. He would be an upgrade for us at the center position but considering our centers, who isn't? Curry is a good player but I wouldn't give up any of our core guys (Murray, Allen, or Lewis) to get him.
I guess if we have any sort of faith in Robert Swift, then trading for a young center will probably be near the bottom on a list of priorities, which at the moment still seems to be headed by gaining a point guard - with contracts being offered to Derek Fisher, Mo Williams, Mike James and Damon Jones this off-season. Adding Collison, Fortson and to a lesser extent, Swift, may completely change the fortunes of our weak frontcourt from last season too. You never know.
