Although a bronze medal was a disappointment, I think Odom handled it well and played his role well on the team. He seemed to be the only one that didn't avoid the media and played consistently. I look forward to him playing with Kobe, Vlade, and hopefully Karl Malone, and with any luck J Kidd. Are they selling Laker jerseys in Odom's # yet?[IMG]

yeah Odom played great in the Olympics. he hustled for the ball and played great D. something Shaq would never have done. and he's very effective w/o the ball. always grabbing the offensive reb. LO can blend well with KB cuz he doesnt want the ball that much. he's gonna be the Pippen for Kobe.

Best Big Forward in the Pacific

How about best big forward in the Pacific? All star would have to take some injuries to KG, Duncan, and Dirk. I think he can surpass Dirk eventually and right now is better than AK, Webber or anybody else in the west at his position.

Odom has a lot of potential and if he can find the right way to play with Kobe, he might be an all-star in the future...but c'mon. "Best at his position"? I understand that he plays both SF and PF but he's not close to Duncan or Garnett (both have been MVP). At most, he's as good as Kenyon Martin, Carmello Anthony, Zach Randolph, Elton Brand, Kirilenko, etc.

But then again, I could be wrong if he meshes with Kobe well...

Lamar Odom played great int he Olympics. I thought that he would do great on the Lakers even before the Olympics, so, this just adds.
His Hustle and unselfishness is what the Lakers need with Kobe on the Team. If they get JKidd too... wow, a very unselfish team(Besides Kobe) that can mesh well(Hopefully) And, Lamar Odom, JKidd(If they get him), and Kobe Hustle. And, with all these new, younger players... Im really excited...

I'm also looking forward to seeing Lamar Odom play for the Lakers. The way he played during the olympics was just great and I think me might be that type of player that Kobe/the Lakers need to shine well. Look at Pippen: he always played the 3 next to Jordan who played the 2. Those are the exact positions that Kobe and Odom play so I can't wait. [IMG]
Maybe if we end up with JKidd it'd be even better...but we'll never know for sure until he dons a Laker jersey.

I?m sorry to bring this up cause I guess it doesn?t belong here. I don't know if you guys have thought of this but doesn't it make you mad that KB could have made it to the Olympics this whole time if it weren't for this trouble girl. If she had dropped this whole charade long time ago maybe the Olympic team would have come out better then a bronze medal.

Sorry if I bugged some that are sick of hearing about the case.

I was pissed that this girl was wasting tax payer's time and money was hoping that something would be done about it. But now that you mention it, she also prevented one of our star athletes from representing his country in the Olympics. Taking this whole thing up to this point and then dropping the charges because she does not want to testify should be considered obstruction of justice.

^ I don't think he would have accepted the invatation anyways. He had a chance in 2000 as well, I'm sure he denied.
On top of that, USA is like his 2nd home in a way, he spent 13 years of his life in Italy so I'm guessing he's kind of an outsider in the States.
Yes, he's lived here for the last 13 years of his life as well but I still believe he won't represent the USA.
He is a citizen, yes, but Kobe is the kind to take the summer to make himself better indivisually and focus on workouts and such and make himself stronger mentally and physically for the upcoming season.
Even if he didn't have this case going on, for the sake of Laker fans, I would have been against him going.

I don't know if this is correct but I thought he did accept but said that he would probably not make it because of the trial.

As a Laker fan I wouldn't have been agaisn't him going. Odom was in the team we could have seen them play and they could have gotten to know each others games better.
