"They weren't prepared," Turner said. "It was obvious. They needed more practice, more time together." Turner, former NBA player and current radio analyst with the Orlando Magic, won an Olympic gold medal with the 1984 U.S. men's team. He also knows how much basketball around the world has changed since then.</div> Full Story Captain obvious... Team USA also needed to kill the egos, play team ball, and knock down the open jumpers. Other than that, we're great
Of course they didnt have enough time to practice the whole team was finally finished being assembled six days before the tourny started the got about a week of practice. Then also they over looked super star players and put young players in there instead of taking artest and francis they took people like wade and melo. They did not have the leadership ability to win on the team they needed to look more carefully before making there selections. They needed to consider players like Pierce, Davis, Artest, and Francis before putting players like Lebron, Wade, Melo, and Okafor on the team. Those two things are probably the number one and two reasons for there lose well not lose, but for them not winning gold at athens.
