<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Flush with the anticipation of bringing an NBA franchise to New Orleans, those involved in the Hornets' relocation process convinced the league that professional basketball could thrive in the Crescent City.

A significant drop in attendance between the team's first and second season, however, has NBA officials keeping close tabs on the Hornets franchise as it prepares for its important third season in New Orleans.

"When we started, there were some concerns about whether we could make it in such a small market," said Jack Capella, Hornets' chief operating officer.

"We told the league that we were going to provide it with a certain amount of revenue from season tickets and sponsorships, and now we have to meet those commitments. The league is watching to make sure that we do."</div>

Could this franchise be looking to relocate yet again? And according to ticket sales and revenue, they have decreased by 5% which means nearly 1,000 season ticket holders did not renew. So this franchise is somewhat in trouble.

You can't blame the fans. The moves that the team has made is really questionable. Hiring Tim Floyd as a coach was suicide, and Jamal Mashburn's injury didn't help. Baron Davis needs some serious help, now that he's in the Western Conference.

I expected this even when the Hornets announced the relocation to New Orleans. The market is too small. Leave New Orleans to the Saints. The Hornets will remain at the bottom of the league in attendance next season, and the season after that, and after that, and yeah... I expect them to relocate yet again. Las Vegas Hornets, anyone? I read that the NBA is interested in having an NBA franchise in Las Vegas... Louisville Hornets, maybe?

Heh, the owners should have just sold the team and let the Hornets remain in Charlotte. Big mistake. I wouldn't be surprised to see the NBA force them to sell. They were the reason Charlotte lost interest in the organization to begin with. The NBA knew this and that's why Stern promised Charlotte another NBA franchise.

Being relocated in the west, will actually hurt this team. They need some more big bodies and depth to compete in the west. If they lose a lot of games this season, then why would people want to watch them? But then again, only time will tell

I am firm believer that the hornets can make it in the city of New Orleans. Injury has really hurt this team and hornet fans should stay faithful

How about moving to St.Louis. Great fans, I'd love a pro basket ball team in Mizzo and still be part of the western conference.

I think St. Louis would be a great revenue for the Hornets. I think a lot of people out there would really love a basketball team.

Things are not going great for the Hornets, and they won't be for 3-5 years. This team is rebuilding...bad time to move when you are rebuilding...

Las Vegas and St. Louis both sound good and both are in the western region.

Las Vegas would be a good location. There are a lot of people that would jump on the band wagon and be huge fans. The ticket slaes would go up though. They would have to change their name, IMO, the Las Vegas HOrnets doesn't sound right.

I blame the owners. No matter where they move, even if LA, people aren't gonna come if the owners aren't willing to put together the best possible team.

Should've made them sell and remain in Charlotte.

It doesn't matter where they move.
If they move, they'll have a huge fan base to begin with, but the same management faults will just dwindle the fan base like everywhere else they've been.
I hope the NBA forces them to sell..........to me...........at a discounted price.

They weren't to bright dealing Kobe either. They make moves too soon.

I think they should finish off this season with what they have. Let the youngsters prove themselves. The ones that can't prove themselves need to go. Keep the ones that do. And then add on your star players (Bdiddy, Magloire, etc, etc). Next year will be a lot different. We just need to stay healthy.
