Rudy Gay, Uconn. Since I am a UConn fan and from Connecticut I have seen him play before. This is not a Biased opinion. Jim Calhoun is one of the best coaches at making players reach their potential. I think hes gonna have a break-out year at UConn and win it by a close vote.

I don't see how Gay and Williams will get the time needed to really be the Freshman of the year.

Remember this name: Brian Butch.

Those of you who don't suffer from short-term memory loss should remember him as the greatly hyped High School All-American center from the class of 2003 that chose to redshirt his Freshman year at Wisconsin rather than play. If he played last year, he would have been one of the favorites to win the award, but now he has the edge on everyone. He's gained almost twenty pounds of pure muscle, he's experienced an entire college season, and he has one year of age and experience on all the other Freshman. He's definitely my pick.

Kentucky also has Rajon Rondo who is a freasman, who played with Josh Smith at Oak Hill last year he is going to be good too. But I'm going to go with Marvin Williams. The kid is awesome.

I think that my boy Marvin Williams is going to be the best Freshman in College ball this year, but Rondo is good and isnt Darius Washington going to be a Freshman this year?

This will be one of the best frshman years in rememberance. I think everyone but D.J White has a chance. He's a great player but still has a lot of developing to do, more so than the other candidates.

i really like Aldridge I was so happy when I drafted him on the mock-offseason game. But he still needs some time to develop.

Darius Washington, Ive seen a few of his HS games and he has alot of potential to be good, Also playing on a team with few good players will atleast garuntee him good minutes.

Well almost all players who attend college still have developing to do. That's why they go, to develop and to become the best they can get in their 4 years and then make themselves eligible for the draft.

In my mind, I don't see Marv or Gay becoming Freshman of the Year. Some say Marv is the complete package, and some may say the same with Rudy, but they will be struggling for playing time with the players that are already on their respective teams. I really like Darius, coming to Memphis. Me being a fan, I'm really excited about him coming here. I'd really look at Butch to be freshman of the year, as Voodoo mentioned. LaMarcus himself may find himself looking for playing time with Buckman and Klotz there already.

I don't see Marvin struggling to get time. I see him getting a lot. Becaus they would be best if there starting lineup was as follows.
C-Sean May
PF-Marvin Williams
SF-Jawwad WIlliams
SG-Rasshad McCants
PG-Ray Felton
I think that would be better than having Williams come off the bench and having Melvin Scott at the 2 and moving McCants to the 3. You might be right about Gay struggling to get a whole lot of playing time. But in the time he does get. He will make the most of it. And that is what will make him a candidate. I got the chance to see some of his games. Living in Baltimore. And boy did he impress me.

He's not a sure thing. He's going into one of hte most crowded lineups in the NCAA. It doesn't even matter if he plays every minute; there won't be enough touches for him to win Freshman of the year. The same can be said for Gay. I'd look at the players who are looking at major playing time, like Butch, Washington, Aldridge, and Gibson.

And that's why I'm very pleased to say, my pick for freshman of the year is Washington. He will be getting a load of minutes with no PG with us, after we lost our star PG, C-USA POY, Antonio Burks. I'm also looking for a very good season from my Memphis boys.
