Shame, Shame, Shame. Philly ppl booed Kobe, a philly native, now they boo Iverson, one of the the best athletes on any team in philly?! They are crazy!
That's just uncalled for. Iverson was one of the atheltes that played well in Athens. If they were to boo Carmelo, that'd be one thing but Allen repped USA to the fullest. Philly fans boo Kobe, and now this. You guys have some moody fans over there. They're acting like it was all cause of him that USA could only grab the bronze. Give the man a break.
Man, 80% percent of people in this country are stupid. Seriously, I am worried about the elections man. They get brainwashed so easily. I mean some of the speeches during the convention are so vague and nicely worded, and people get into this awe. I mean they just repeat stuff from the pledge of allegiance and songs and stuff..."America, home of the brave, the red, white, and the blue, George Bush will make sure nobody takes that away from us"...I'm like WTF??? The average person in this country doesn't know jack...their lazy and dumb...and just care about entertainment and fun...they just wanna get drunk and go clubbin'.. You guys have seen "Jay walking" on Jay Leno right?...Man, people just don't care. That's why the French, and citizens of Europe think Americans are stupid...which I hate to admit is true.
Care to post the link for the rest of the article? Anyways, what the fans displayed was the definition of ignorance. It was an arguable case on why they booed Kobe, but too boo you're very own franchise player, that's just plain retarded. Allen Iverson is the same person that led them to the Finals, he's is the same person that put the 76ers back on the map and that's how they repay him? So what if USA finished with the Bronze, at least they came home with something. If anything, I would expect a standing ovation for him. But then again, majority of the audience are baseball fans, so they probably didn?t completely understand what he?s been going through. And even though that may be the case, I still don?t see why majority of the fans would boo him. Something like this could easily make a player think about a trade. I?m not saying this would make Iverson demand a trade, but something like this could show a player that he?s not appreciated which could possibly end up demanding a trade down the road.
Wow, just wow. Allen Iverson was one of the few elite players who didn't decline the offer and decided to represent our country. He knocked down several key shots and helped out the Red, White and Blue. For fans to boo Iverson just shows the ingorance of the Americans today. Granted, Team USA needed to knock the egos and play team ball, but Iverson shouldn't take all the blame for it.
This was uncalled for, at least allen went to the olympics unlike Tmac, Shaq, Kobe, Ray Allan, and JKidd...At least the USA got the bronze, when they came in after their first lose they weren't even thinking about medals.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This was uncalled for, at least allen went to the olympics unlike Tmac, Shaq, Kobe, Ray Allan, and JKidd</div> well, Ray Allen was getting married, as was Vince, and we all know why kobe didn't go... as for the others though. This is pure ignorance, one of the most popular players of any sport in the world decided to come and play for team USA risking his health and well being, while others declined. He gave it his all and the philly fans booed him? that's messed up.
Ok, I do think it's wrong and it is ignorant but I live in Philly and have seen alot worse. Also after living here all my life, I and the people from this city get used to it. The fans of Philly teams are the most faithful fans in the world and care about winning the most and don't care about the criticism from reporters or people from other cities. I guess that the fans are living up to the reputation of Philly natives as being tough asses who don't care about anything. Believe me, we are the most hated but the most hard core when it comes to sports. I really would like to see it change but I doesn't bother me.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Silky Smooth:</div><div class="quote_post">I really dont understand this, even tough Team USA finished with Bronze, Allen did his part, when these kind of things happen it just makes me mad,and it seems unfair. Here is the link you have to scroll down some to see the artice.</div> This sickin;s me ,to hear such news.Makes my blood boil,AI is a passionate American who surely tried his best and is not at fault.Typical Phili behaviour, like when they booed Kobe at AllStar O2' ,i felt for him then...Its disgusting'.
Wow I see it all the time tough like at the games and stuff. When ever I go to a Sixers game and Iverson misses a lay up every one goes BOOO. But when Iverson sinks a 3 or something the house goes wild. If they boo any one though it should be any one but Tim Duncan, Iverson, and Odom. Philly fans get very intense though during it and never take a loss for an anserwer.
I hope this doesnt affect Iverson at all this is what makes me sort of understand when some of my firends say Philly fans are some of the worst type there are because a lot of these people are very ignorent. I love Philly its fans and the city, but these kinds of things make me wonder where our faith really lyes. A medal is a medal and I am proud. Plus AI was the second leading scorer and also played a huge roll in helping keep team USA's hopes high like Silky Smooth said in his sig. AI did his job and much more imo.
well i dont know if anyone else has noticed this but i have noticed ai seems to be alot more relaxed when hes not playing in philly. i mean his game just looks like it flows from him and he looks so composed and like hes having fun. alla all star games, and the olympics. I've always just connected this with his lack of all start caliber teammates in philly but now i think diffrently. this act form philly fans leaves me speechless.
wow, that would suck if i were AI, getting booed by his own hometown fans. they should appreciate his performance, and unlike others he wanted to be in the olympics and be a part of playing for his country. he did his job and played well imo. i would see why they would do that if USA got no medal but they atleast got the bronze and they should respect that.
I have all the respect in the world for Allen Iverson for the great leadership, patriotism, and overall respect for our country that he showed. I think the reason Philadelphia fans don't is because since Allen was the captain had they won they could finally have called a championship there own considering the fact he is from Philaeplhia well he is from Virgina, but plays for Philadelphia. Overall I agree with my cuz Pure Skillz on this one it sucks to see Allen booed after he played so hard guess it is just the standard what supposable Philly fans think "pushes there team to another level" when they demand more from there star players. I learned you never know what is going through a Philadelphia fans mind when they booed home town hero for say Kobe in the 2002 All Star game.
I sick of hearing everyone bas Philly fans. Remember we are the fans that watch our teams fall every year and then we look forward to the next season and start rooting them on again. If we were such bad fans to our teams you would see attendeance drop and no one would even care about our sports francises anymore. I'm sorry but I think Philly has the one of the top fan bases in American sports. Hardcore Flyers, Phillies, 76ers, and the Eagles. The only games that you can get seats for is the Phillies and still you'd be lucky to be able to snatch them up. Any of the other games you'd pretty much need to go to a scalper or purchase before the season even starts. Can someone from Philly please back me up on this, because it's true?
