Dallas Trades: Jerry Stackhouse Shawn Bradley 1st Round Pick Cash Dallas Receives: Shawn Marion Phoenix Trades: Shawn Marion Phoenix Receives: Jerry Stackhouse Shawn Bradley 1st Round Pick Cash
Big Jerry Stackhouse fans from his Heel days, but I have to admit this would be a horrible trade for the Suns. Do the contracts even add up? First they take on Bradely a guy who is by far in my mind after Sam Boiwe the biggest NBA bust ever. Then my boy Stack has questions about his health and knees as well as consistancy. On the other hand marion is the face of consistancy after Tim Duncan and KG. When the all star team needed to guard MJ who did they choose to guard him? This guy has a good overall game can rebound, shoot, post up, hit free throws and all of that stuff. If they give him up they have to start JJ so they lose a big spark off the bench as well as put more pressure on him to perform perhaps he is not ready for that pressure yet like when Kieth Van Horn was traded from the Nets it was to give RJ more minutes, but at the time RJ was not ready and the Nets suffered a little for it. Although they still won the division.
Replace Stack with Finley, then it might be considerable. It would give phoenix a center, even if he's a bust, he's still somewhat servicable. Maybe this would be better? Finley Polkodzine (or Bradley) 2nd or first Rounder for Shawn Marion Fillers would need to be thrown here and there, but overall, i dont like the trade.
Put Finley in instead, and its considerable. It'd be even better had it been: Finley Polkodzine 1st Rounder for Shawn Marion It's certainly something to think about, Polkodzine has loads of potential and you are getting a 1st rounder, but overall, i wouldnt pull the trigger on the trade.

Poldkodzine has two left feet. I would stick to marion instead of finley, cuz marion is younger than him.
You'd want Polkodzine because he has potential and can actually improve, Bradley on the other hand has a pretty big contract and really can either stay the same ore only get worse.
I don't think this is going down, PHX needs a center when they trade Marion, I would have to get them trying to get Maglorie or Theo... EDIT: --------- Different trade: Portland trades: C Theo Ratliff (7.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 0.8 apg in 31.3 minutes) SG Derek Anderson (13.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.5 apg in 35.5 minutes) Portland receives: SF Shawn Marion (19.0 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.7 apg in 40.7 minutes) PG Howard Eisley (6.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.1 apg in 21.8 minutes) PG Leandrinho Barbosa (7.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.4 apg in 21.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: +12.3 ppg, +2.2 rpg, and +3.9 apg. Phoenix trades: SF Shawn Marion (19.0 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 2.7 apg in 40.7 minutes) PG Howard Eisley (6.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 4.1 apg in 21.8 minutes) PG Leandrinho Barbosa (7.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.4 apg in 21.4 minutes) Phoenix receives: C Theo Ratliff (7.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 0.8 apg in 85 games) SG Derek Anderson (13.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 4.5 apg in 51 games) Change in team outlook: -12.3 ppg, -2.2 rpg, and -3.9 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Portland and Phoenix being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Portland and Phoenix had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
I could care less about that deal, it doesn't involve big name guys. But the first trade I actually find kind of fair. I mean they giv up a quality starter, a quality back up and a pick for a great player. good deal in my eyes.
Cuban is going to get rid of Finley one day... but this? Nah... They have Josh Howard, Marquis Daniels and Jerry Stackhouse/Michael Finley at the SF spot and all deserve playing time. I don't think Finley would care to take a lesser role on the team, and I'm a little scared about Stackhouse... But Shawn Marion? I doubt he'll accept a smaller role to play with Dallas when in Phoenix they might get the 8th seed with him as the probably main player on the team. More chemistry land mines on the Dallas Mavericks ! ! ! As realgm.com would say... TRADE DECLINED!
Jerry Stackhouse will be gone from Dallas by the trade deadline. But now? And for MARION?!Marion is an incredibly complete player for his age. He is the Suns' building block. Trading him would not only cause problems with Dallas' roster, it would ruin Phoenix completely. Losing Marbury was enough.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting S.Livingston14:</div><div class="quote_post">No Mr. Wade, when I said no big names I was reffering to the trade above me not the original trade.</div> The trade above you includes Marion also. And I don't think Phoenix would pull the trigger on this one. While they would benefit from Theo, giving up Marion AND Barbosa would be too much. They're very keen on this kid, especially since his grand summer league performance.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting whitephenomenon:</div><div class="quote_post">Dallas Trades: Jerry Stackhouse Shawn Bradley 1st Round Pick Cash Dallas Receives: Shawn Marion Phoenix Trades: Shawn Marion Phoenix Receives: Jerry Stackhouse Shawn Bradley 1st Round Pick Cash</div> I am sorry but this trade seems horribly lopsided in the favor of Dallas, while you are giving up a 1st round pick really that is just not enough. Marion's presence may lead to chemistry and playing time issues for the Suns I am certain a better deal is out there to be had for Phoenix if they are inclined to move him.
