He shot 43 percent from beyond the arc and averaged 3.4 points per game. He finished last season ranked fifth on the team in 3-pointers made with 28. "He's a real good shooter and the ultimate team player," general manager Carroll Dawson said. "He gives you a little bit different kind of four that can shoot a 3, and that always helps. We've had a lot of luck in the past few years, even with (Matt) Bullard here, playing four and shooting 3s. "When you have a center and we'll have another couple of guys needing double teams, it's always good to have the shooters. And he's a smart player that's been down the road before, and we're thinking he has a lot to contribute."</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
wow thats great news! I love Padgett..he is a class act, great shooter and ultimate team player and I was wondering what they were gonna do with him...I think he deserves some consistent minutes at the 3/4 backup spot...
Padgett is a great player to have on your team, but I don't expect him to see more time than last season, especially since Howard and Taylor most likely play 40 minutes at power forward. Scott will be good for some three-point shooting, but minutes for him will be hard to come by.
he's still a great guy off the bench tho. doesn't complain about minutes, provides energy off the bench, and a good guy to bring in when they need a 3 late in the game - an extra shooter at the 4 spot.
I think he'll take the backup SF role, and let Boki be the odd one out. I dont expect Gaines to get much playing time at all either. Let's hope that somehow Boki can be inserted into the roster. I think they signed him for 5 years, 14 million. According to clutchfans that is. They wouldnt sign a third stringer for that long or that much.. I'd rather see Boki play the backup 3 minutes, but.. Padgett will be more consistent, and hopefully more productive.
I'd like to see Padgett have a bigger role on the team next year, honestly. He's a good offensive player, and after last year I really hope the Rockets can be a more exciting and consistent offensive team.
Great news!! Scott is one of the class acts in this league, he was given limited minutes and never complained once. I think he's a player for our team, he'll help provide veteran leadership and help some of the younger players grow mentally. Like most posters have already said, Scott won't likely see many minutes but at the same time he will be a threat to bring off our bench when he's called on.

I have never been high on Pagett since the playoffs when he was with the Jazz and they where facing the Kings and he accidentally scored a basket on his own team though the refs credited it to C-webb, but it is good to here he got resigned a solid contributer and can give some vet leadership to the team as it tries to make a deep playoff push.
