<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Torontonian Jamal Maglorie was in his hometown to play in Vince Carter's charity game and hinted at a possible pairing in Canada. When asked about trade rumors, Maglorie said, "I've only heard what's been in the papers. I'm good friends with Vince and maybe once or twice he's just kind of said, `Hey, we need you here.'" This lobbying by Carter could be an indication that he has backed down from his trade requests and that he still possesses a strong desire to remain in Canada. NBA teams are not allowed to discuss contract issues with players until their existing agreements have expired, so any advances by the Raptors would likely be considered tampering.</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
He's a free agent this year? If he isn't then we could no doubt do a trade but New Orleans needs a center out in the West so I doubt they'd trade him for a smaller player...

Deception is right, i'm very sure New Orleans won't give up a player who covers a position most needed in their conference. Besides, there's something called a salary cap. The raps could add someone to the mix though, just not sure who..
Toronto has been "eyeing" Jamaal Magloire for a long, long time. Unfortunately, eyeing doesnt get a player on our roster, and probably never will.
oh man...what a front court we would have: big cat, cb4 and vc. i think its worth trading donyell, jalen and a first round pick.
There's no point in posting these articles, that have no point to it. Does this really make sense for the Hornets? They need a big man in the West to even be competitive, and by giving up Magloire they would be the worse team in the West.
The Hornets wouldn't even trade Magloire for Bosh or Carter, our two most valuable players which means none of our players would appeal to them.

happen what the Hornets would be looking for in a trade for him would be a player a little less talented then him to play the power forward as well as a half way decent center. The Raptors have Bosh and there rookie draft pick after that there front line goes down hill. They may be able to pull of a trade if they throw in Rose and Marshall just because of the talent those two have or if they take on some bad contracts those are the only ways I see this trade happening for Jamal. It looks as though to me that they should wait until free agency next off season to try and sign him if he and Vince are good friends he will want to be here also added with the incentive that its his home town along with the fact that the team could offer him decent money may be enough to lure him to the team.

Now that Baron Davis wants out, what sense would it make for the Hornets to trade Magloire if they want Davis to stay? Magloire's basically the only help on offense that Davis has, so trading him would not appeal to Davis at all, unless maybe Jalen Rose is included. Rose could be a great option as a scorer to take some of the load off B. Diddy. However, I don't see the Hornets giving up an All-Star center for a wing, so I doubt a trade would happen that would send Magloire back to Toronto.

if your asking me if i want to discuss jamaal magloire being a raptor...then see my first post in this thread for your answer. if you dont want to discuss it...just dont open the thread. simple like that

You can make a case like this for almost any single player. "He wants to come to this place", doesn't neccesairly mean he's gonna get traded. Hypothetical situations don't really make the board more lively, it makes it very....hypothetical. It's pointless to ask questions about things that have no chance of happening. It would be like me saying "Marion came to Vince Carter's charity game and hes a friend of his, do you think we can get him when he's a free agent?" There's a billion hypothetical questions one cant post up. It is not worth discussing unless there is some sort of indication that there is truth to it.
