Im nto putting much thought into it right now since I haven';t seen an official story but, I hoep he goes to the Lakers!!!
There are probably more profound issues facing JBB than the fact that occasionally posters take liberties in how they present rumors. I'll more than grant you that. My concern is that the season is almost upon us and when stuff like this breaks, we want JBB posters to not only be the first to break them, but also break the stories in thier correct context. This way, people reading the site gain respect for our integrity here at JBB. That earns posters, which JBB wants. Posters want good content and good conversation, which will come with ensuring that we do things correctly, so that retractions and misleading people are at a minimum. _______________________________________________ Apparently USA Today broke this story initially and they erroneously said Davis had demanded a trade. I think part of the misunderstanding with this story as it currently stands, probably stems from that failure on USA Today's part. Here's the part I hope JBB posters will focus on: We can all probably agree that there are alot of problems with the media today. Over-blown or over-sensationalized stories, not following up to confirm rumors, not checking sources, etc. Why bring that stuff up? Simple......because we don't have to be that way. We don't have to go on regurgitating the same stories that are forced fed to us. We should aspire to loftier goals than simply trying to get stories out as quickly as possible. The net is full of message boards where posters act irresponsibly, express themselves more often than not with profanities and insults, and in general, just plain suck. JBB doesn't want to be one of those sites and preventing the little things from creaping in, generally prevents the bigger stuff from creaping in. I hope that's understandable and that people can respect that. I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt, just want to make sure that things get done right the first time, that way we don't have to retrace and waste people's valuable time and energy. Thanks.
Yeh people,Baron Davis did not demand a trade and he probaly didnt come up with the idea of exploring his options,I think it was his agent who suggested it to him and he has a lot of trust in his agent. I would love to see Baron D in Philly alongside AI but that will never happen unless AI was traded also, who knows where he will end up but I dont think he would fit well in PHX or NY because both of those teams have star PGs already. In the end I think he will stay will stay but in the NBA anything can happen,he loves it in NO so that will probaly make him picky about wheere he would be ok going, but I do think the Hornets need to trade him,he is a star PG but the Hornets dont sell that many tickets, they need to trade him for something big.
***QUOTE DELETED*** hey dude, if u didnt like wad we were talking about then stay out. no one ask u in here in the first place. and give an intelligent post
Well i think the lakers would be jumping all over davis they could thro down a deal like: Lakers Recieve/ Hornets Trade: Davis - PPG 22.9 RPG 4.3 APG 7.5 Combined - PPG 22.9 RPG 4.3 APG 7.5 Lakers Trade, Hornets Recieve: Butler - PPG 9.2 RPG 4.80 APG 1.9 George - PPG 7.4 RPG 4.00 APG 1.4 Cook - PPG 4.4 RPG 2.90 APG .6 Atkins - PPG 8.4 RPG 1.50 APG 3.5 Combined - PPG 29.4 RPG 13.2 APG 7.5 Lakers: PPG -6.5 RPG -8.9 APG +0 --------------------------------------- Hornets: PPG +6.5 RPG +8.9 APG +0 I think this trade would work out considering the hornets really are not going anywhere and need young talent and the lakers need a good pg, I bet Davis wants to get back in the l.a. area and out of new orleans. George and butler can start counting there both healthy and atkins and cook can come in and score points and put in a good game effort But if the lakers could pick him up omg i would love that 1. Davis 2. Bryant 3. Odom 4. Malone(if he resigns) Grant(if he malone doesn't resign) 5. Vlade That would be cool.

Quoting mrj18:

According to www.hoopshype.com Baron Davis wants out of New Orleans and his agent says that he would be a good fit for the Knicks, Lakers, Suns, or Heat.www.hoopshype.com/rumors According to this link http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap.php it states that Baron Davis requested to be traded
Yet another freaken NBA princess who can't stay with their team. Give me a freaken break. You signed a contract to play...FREAKEN PLAY!! Boo Hoo our team isn't winning, i'm a big baby, I WANT TO BE TRADED.
^ If you would have read the whole thread you would have seen that he was merely exploring his options, not demanding a trade.
If these Rumors are true.... i think diddy would fit in Dallas.... not sure if Dallas has a PG or needs one....
