Jon Steffanson Waived

Dallas waived him according to nba.com

I wonder if we could use him as a tall combo guard rather than look to Flores who might not even make the team. Any thoughts?

 

I like Steffanson, who's only downside is a lack of experience (he spend last year on Dallas' IR). He played in a southern California high school, and is a great shooter and a pretty good playmaker, and is generally pretty athletic. He might want to go to Europe where he'll be guaranteed a spot, unless some team offers him playing time.

 

flores is makeing the team, you can count on that...

 

Yeah I would take Flores if he can prove to be a better defender than Stefanson. Anytime I think Combo guard, you better be a good defender to guard those 2's. Iverson, Francis, Terry are all undersized 2's but they play pretty good D and that's what counts.

Jon has signed to play in Russia for more money and is guaranteed playingtime (plus no TAXES). He told the Mavs he would not be returning so they waived him, although they will keep their eye on him and may bring him back next season...Reason I know this is he is a friend of mine here in Dallas.....

i'm surely gonna keep my eye on jon but i can't do anything else because hes like the only good baller us icelanders have:S there was this other guy petur gu?mundsson who played with the blazers,spurs and lakers in the 80's but wasn't that good but was the first european to play in the league but jon is so much better!

Keep us updated on how he does over there! I saw him play in the summer pro league and I he surprised me. That guy can play. I hope he will make it to the nba someday.

 

Why is this thread still alive? Once the regular season starts, I hope we have better things to talk about.
