If by some case the Suns keep Marion (highly unlikly), who then would be our starting SF, who do you think will start at SG, Joe Johnson or Quentin Richardson? Although JJ plays bad off the bench I would have to go with Quentin, he brings better shooting then JJ and more boards (not by much)...Please post your comments
If Marion stays then JJ should be coming off the bench behind him,if he doesnt play well off the bench maybe the Suns should trade him for a player that can play good off the bench.
I think they should definately keep Marion.I just think Marion and Amare should be the two staying outta anybody. IMO....JJ should go because he really isnt that much of a factor on the team unless he plays alot of minutes. They should trade JJ for a C and then theyll have a star team and actually make the playoffs
I think they should trade JJ for a starting C too. JJ isn't going to get the time he deserves on this team. A starting C would be much more valuable to you than JJ coming off the bench.
I honestly don't see the reason for all of this trade talk involving the Suns' two most (and only) consistent players last season, JJ and Marion. Neither of them should even be mentioned in trade rumors. Both put up huge numbers in several categories, including minutes, so they can handle the load. Although Marion should see his minutes cut down because he spent the summer playing in the Olympics. I honestly don't see any center short of Shaq that could mean to this team what either JJ or Marion have in the last season and a half.
No, I'd rather have JJ starting here, than playing 2 garbage minutes behind TMac. And let's face it, Houston will not trade Yao for JJ. There's no plausible trades right now that make sense.
I didnt mean that you would trade JJ for Yao. You said that JJ would mean more to the team than any center (besides Shaq) if they were on the Suns. Im saying that Yao would mean more to your team than JJ would coming off the bench. I dont think the Suns would have signed Q to a huge contract just to let him sit on the bench.
JJ sucks off the bench, the management should try to trade JJ to the Nuggets for Nene, I think that would be great for both teams. Nene is also an athletic freak, and he can play center, and the Nuggets need a SG alongside Melo, it should be a thought.
The suns really do need a C and I agree with JJ for Nene. Nene would fit nicely with amare and marion. Q can do more for the team than JJ can.
I like the JJ for Nene trade. That would be great for both teams. But JJ is worth a lot more than Nene imo.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But JJ is worth a lot more than Nene imo</div> A big for a small, Nene is worth probalby the same, maybe even more than JJ because of that, and he's younger too.
Well I actually wanted to get rid of Q because JJ is better, but why would they sign Q just to trade him? Also JJ and Nene's contracts are identical, Q makes too much to be traded for Nene, and Denver isn't going to give Nene and another player for Q-Rich.
Phoenix trades: SG Joe Johnson (16.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.4 apg in 40.6 minutes) Phoenix receives: C Nene Hilario (16.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.4 apg in 40.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: -16.7 ppg, -4.7 rpg, and -4.4 apg. Denver trades: C Nene Hilario (16.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.4 apg in 40.6 minutes) Denver receives: SG Joe Johnson (16.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.4 apg in 82 games) Change in team outlook: +16.7 ppg, +4.7 rpg, and +4.4 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED That would work, another thing is that JJ only has one year left on his contract, maybe the Suns will just see if he can play good off the bench, if not, then let him go...This would be the only time you can do this deal, a sign and trade deal next year won't work because JJ will probably be asking for more $$$...
Its JJ's starting job to lose, yeah Q signed for alot of money but still see it as JJ's job. I don't think Marion is going anywhere for now.
It Q's job to lose, even though he hasn't gained it yet with the Suns. I think they'll say a bunch of a BS about them battling for it in training camp and preseason. Trade JJ for Nene already.
Everyone is forgetting one thing, D'Antoni likes to run small ball. Which means three guards/forwars line-ups. I think they'll keep everyone and run a starting line-up of: 1-Steve Nash 2-Quentin Richardson 3-Joe Johnson 4-Shawn Marion 5-Amare Stoudemire This would work great for the "Up-Tempo Offense" we've been hearing so much about, as well as give us an -gasp- "Up-Tempo Defense". We can now trap anywhere on the floor, defend full-court, etc. Basically, we'll flat out-hustle them. Think of it as what the Mavericks should of done with a great Energizer Bunny like Nash in the first place. All we have to do now is unload the useless baggage of either Z or Lampe. I'm sorry, getting it done against summer leaguers is one thing, but neither can really do more than have sporadic moments of glory. For example, would any of you say that Medvedenko is now a must-keep for the lakers, just because he hit a few big jumpers in a playoff series? I don't think so. Keeping one of them is OK, but both....
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">1-Steve Nash 2-Quentin Richardson 3-Joe Johnson 4-Shawn Marion 5-Amare Stoudemire </div> That would never work, I don't care if D'Antoni likes to run small ball, Amare does NOT play center and Marion is NOT a power forward. If the Suns are out of the playoff hunt for good MAYBE they will try this lineup.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Courtking031:</div><div class="quote_post">That would never work... </div> Amare doesn't have to play center, just be put on the card as the center. Most likely, the Suns will play a 3-2 type offense. Put Amare down low and have Shawn cutting everywhere; and you've negated the idea of having set positions.
