Baron Davis's agent has told him to explore more options in his NBA future, one being to request a trade. If there could be another team involved, maybe the Celtics could get Baron Davis for Gary Payton with another team in the mix. He is a scorer, but is also a very good passer. He had over 7 assists last year. This is an exciting possibility, what do you think?
Hmm... I do think its a possibility... But, GP is past his prime, thats another key factor especially after last season.
Even though all thsi hs basically been squashed, Baron Davis said he wasn't to go to a team where he has a chance at winning a championship, and even though we were talking about it in the Raptors forum, it eliminates the Raptors, Celtics, and any other team that isn't that good in the first place.
I don't know that the situation has been quashed, but regardless, there's little reality of Davis landing in Boston. If you think about it, Davis needs the ball alot and while that would keep the ball out of Pierce's hands.......well.....that would keep the ball out of Pierce's hands. They are supposedly freinds, but I don't see them working well together. We'd likely end up in the same situation that we were in before: 2 guys dominating the ball and not getting the rest of the team involved. Simply put, we can't go back to that and expect to win.

I doubt New Orleans would've even considered Bsoton as an option as the entire league knows that he is on the decline. Either way, I can't blame New Orleans for not wanting to trade him, I mean they need every shred of help they can get. Getting Payton would've really hurt them, even with GP you will get a solid player (I assume a third team is involved). I don't think a proven All-Star just hitting his prime would be traded for a past all-star hitting his decline, for any reason, unless perhaps the team wanted to completely rid themselves of a salary (not the case here). EDIT: hagrid, that's right too. Piece needs complimentary players not players like Davis who really want the ball most of the time. (Lets not forget, Davis sin't shy about hoisting up a random three.)
The only way that something like this would ever happen would be a mid-season deal. N.O. would have to be tanking it and almost out of playoff contention. That may lead to them wanting to dump salary, and a trade for Payton would be perfect for that. But anyways...I'm all set with B. Davis. I'm not a big fan of his, and I don't think he is needed on this team.
I don't know why NOH would dump salary when they're haven't been big players in the FA market for the past few years, maybe in the hope of Redd not getting an extension and signing him somehow To Hargrid, well is wasn't really squashed, but I meant Baron never actually said "I demand a trade", and that NOH has no pressure to trade him, and they really aren't willing to unless someone's going to get them a young franchise player back.
It would be a long shot fo Boston to trade for Davis,he wants to go to a team that is on the rise, plus the only way the Hornets would trade Davis to them is if they got equal value back, which means Paul Pierce.
Just think if the Celts could get Davis, You would have Baron Davis and Paul Pierce together. What a 1-2 combination at PG and SG. I don't see the Celts getting Davis though...

I meant that the bigger issue of him and the hornets hasn't been resolved. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
