I just moved to Lubbock a week and a half ago to start my freshman year in college and I just realized I'm facing an annoying dilema: I can't watch every Rockets' game of the season. I'd always lived in Katy (west side of Houston) so I could just turn on Channel 51 and watch every game of every season.

Is there any major website that offers web-cast games for a specific team, or even all the NBA? I'm willing to spend a few dollars if needed because I don't want to miss any Rockets' games this year.

Why don't you just get Direct Tv? Then you'd be able to watch them games.

I don't have that option because I'm staying in the dorms. All I get is basic Cox Cable, that's why I was wondering if it was possible to watch games on the internet.

OK, thanks for the help! I'll look over at NBA.com and see if that is an option.

You can only see highlights on nba.com, you wont be able to watch them. I think you can go online and listen to game's though.

OK thanks. I was having trouble trying to locate the option to subscribe to anything that would seem relevant. As much as hearing the games would benefit me, it's not the same as seeing the action the announcers are talkin about. If anyone knows of any legitamite sites(pay or free) that offer web-cast games, please inform me.

Thanks YaoMing03-04 and as much of a relief as that is, in the past I've watched all 82 games each season. I would really like to continue this this coming season as well. Anyone else know anything? [IMG]

Who are the announcer going to be this year for the Rockets? I assume Calvin Murphy is done. Is it Worrell and Bullard again?

You are correct by assuming Calvin has stepped down, and last I heard was that Cynthia Cooper was his replacement :thumbsdow ,although Bullard would seem to be the better of the two.

You're out of luck. What you're looking for doesn't exist. Be happy with 33 televised games and audio for all of them. If you're starting college, perhaps it wouldn't be such a great idea to watch all 82 games anyways. [IMG]

Haha, true but then again that's why people like me have been called "die-hard" fans [IMG] . Is it a fact that games are not televised over the net?

Oh god, Cooper would be terrible. Her commentary last year was unbelievably bad during the half-time and post-game shows. I don't believe the Rockets would hire her for the job. Not to sound sexist, but are there any female sports announcers for a professional men's team? I can't recall any.

I'm not sure about the female announcers, but I agree with you 110% on Cooper. She continually lost track of what she was talking about, went off-topic numerous times, and is not a person that you want on TV for anything but playing in the WNBA. She was terrible as a half-time and post-game announcer and I was let down by the fact that they chose her over Matt Bullard, a former Rocket who has excelled in his opportunities as a part-time announcer when needed. The only thing I've seen is live audio off ESPN.com and NBA.com.

When I was in college a few years back, I'd just keep track of the real time box scores. There's a pay feature, I think, which shows a running shot chart. Obviously, this isn't as good as live video feed, but the net hasn't advanced to that degree anyways.

Also, I'm not sure what your dorm's policies will be, but typically there's a download/upload limit for net access. Even if live feed WAS available, I doubt you'd be able to take advantage of it since it would take up so much bandwidth.

True I never thought of that. Although I'd still be willing to pay to try it if there is an option of watching web-cast games.

Where did you hear this? Its the most retarded thing they could possibly do. Are they hoping to take advantage of Coop's popularity in Houston as a player? I just don't see it working.

They should try getting a former Rocket like Bullard. I remember Robert Reid used to sub in for Murph every now and then in the mid-90s, and he did a decent job. Even he'd be better. Heck, Bill Worrell by HIMSELF would be better than putting Cooper on air.

Why do the Rockets have so many national tv games? Just because they have a stupid tall guy who is from China? They were on so much last year, and now it's the same this year. Come on NBA, change it up! Make it fair!
