    Anyone else a tennis fan?

We're entering the important stages of the men's draw (couldn't care less about the women's side) in the last chance to win a major this year, anyone got any tips?

I'm tipping a repeat of the Wimbledon final, with federer to beat Roddick in the grand finale. Roddick is emerging bigtime, unfortunately he's competing with perhaps the most naturally talented all round player to play the game in federer.

    Should be interesting to watch.

Federer is the man. He took it from Agassi today..however I have to say Andre has still got it,had several chances to take the match but Roger has the potential to one day be the best ever IMO.

That match was awful, in terms of the conditions. Throughout the first three sets it was cold and wet, and the next day as they finished it off it was ridiculously windy to the point it was dragging the ball five and six metres off course.

Super tennis, though. Federer IMO will break Sampras' record for total Grand Slams, I think he is that good.

Hewitt got dominated today. Federer was relentless. He's gonna rule the sport for years to come.

Federer is untouchable at the moment. I thought out of all the players, Hewitt was the man who stood the best chance of beating him (hadn't lost a set up to the final), and he was completely wiped from the court.

Federer becomes the first man to win his first four Grand Slam finals, and the first man since Mats Wilander to win three majors in a year.

I was shocked at Hewitt's US Open run..he was playing some great tennis, plus I think he holds the advantage over Federer during their meetings 8-6 I think it is but man...Federer dominated him like I didn't think he would. He become the first cat to shutout his opponent in two championship matches since 1884.

It's amazing how Federer has improved the past 3 years, to think he doesn't even have a coach. Shows how good the guy is. I would of loved to see Federer v Sampras in his prime. That match-up would be one for the ages. Some of the angles Federer finds are out of this world.

I expect the rest of the men's players will be battling for 2nd best in the world for now, Federer is miles ahead of 2nd place Roddick. Who I expected to win the US open, purely due to the surface completely suiting his style of play. He looked so good heading into that quarter-final. Roddick would of given Federer the better game due to his overall power.

In all I enjoyed watching the US open, the women's draw was abit odd and was very unpredictable which is good for the game.

I think it's fair to say that Federer always had special talent, it's only in the last couple of years that the mental side of his game has developed and he's starting to realise the sort of ability he has.

From memory, Federer ended Sampras' amazing run at Wimbledon, where he hadn't lost a match for three or four years.

It just goes to show how so much of it isn't about rankings, but who you actually face and how that suits your game. Roddick struggled against a fellow power player in Johansson, yet Hewitt dealt with him in three swift sets (granted fatigue would have had something to do with that).

Three Russians, Myskina, Sharapova and that chick who won the US open, all won majors. Foir the first time in a long, long time, four different winners won all four Grand Slams, and none of them included a Williams sister, Davenport, Clijsters (injured obviously), Mauresmo or Capriati.
