In 2006, Madden will feature the ESPN licensing. Yes its true. Thats going to be awesome. Hopefully they have Mike Patrick, and Joe Theisman as the announcers.
I was just reading an article of what to expect in the next madden. And I would be the first to say that I am really looking forward to getting this game as soon as it comes out! In 05, it was the hit stick; in 06 now, it will be the QBV. For those who don't know what that is, I'd bet this two page article will tell you about it. http://sports.ign.com/articles/604/604010p1.html
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>So Madden isn't under EA Sports anymore?</div> EA Sports will still develop the game. Only the name will change. EA has a monopoly on the NFL license for the next bunch of years... If you want an NFL game, it absolutely WILL be an EA game.
Does anyone really thing that MADDEN will have anyone but MADDEN doing play by play? More likely, Madden and Michaels will go to ESPN and continue doing the games, and they will be featured in the game....
Im guessing the whole operation will just move over to the other network....they will change a few logos, but its basically the same broadcast....that means the Sunday Night crew is likely out of a job, unless they move to NBC....

Get away with what? It breaks down like this: EA paid the NFL $300 mil for exclusive rights....they arent going to let anyone make an NFL game....that means Madden will be exclusive for 2006 and NFL Street will likely have a 3rd edition, since EA owns them as well....Madden has a deal with EA and Madden works for ABC/ESPN, who are both owned by Disney....so the game will be produced by EA Sports, likely in the same Orlando studios that have produced the last few editions, the game will likely feature Madden and his current partner Al Michaels and may or may not mention ESPN....I cant remember any other version of Madden that mentioned the network he was on, so i doubt they will start that now....
After reading the article, the Qb stuff seems like it will be difficult to master, but fantastic once you have....If BF1 has one complaint about our Madden games its that he doesnt have the control to put the ball exaclty where he wants it even with the best passers....that article indicated that you will be able to "look off" defenders and put the football on a certain shoulder or at a specific height when delivering the pass....
They are eliminating any competition by buying the full NFL license. Now there will not be NFL2K4 or others. Thats not good for players, cause the better competition is, the better the games tend to be.

The cost of the exclusive license was so high, they will have to produce a quality game to make money. I dont think it will be as good as if there was competition though. I also expect the price to stay nice and high on the game.
Im betting that it starts at the standard $50 and stays there for a long time....EA titles without competition tend to stay at thier introduction price for a long time....Tiger 2005 is just now coming down....
http://sports.ign.com/articles/611/611649p1.html The perfect event to kick off the new aspect of Madden NFL 06 is the 2005 Quarterback Challenge! And in other news, here is the complete box cover of the next madden with Donovan McNabb.
I just read somewhere that EA really didnt like that shot of McNabb but they had to go with it becuase he was too exhausted to finish the photo shoot....
