Ok, the books in Vegas probably aren't jumping at the chance to make odds on this one, but it's a theory that at least holds <u>some</u> weight, so I thought I'd share it. Just please don't hold your breath, I don't want to be responsible for the outcome. Malone to C's? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Let's postpone it for a little while longer, though, drawing out the suspense. Could there be other reasons, however seemingly minor, for Malone to consider Boston over the more obvious contender choices above? (Spurs, Lakers, Wolves) There are four things working in Boston's favor: (1) They have let Malone know that they want him and would love to have him. (2) He would be able to play as many or as few minutes as he wants. (3) They can still pay him the MLE of about $5 million. (4) They have Gary Payton.</div>
I don`t know theres a strong rumor going around that Mailman is on his way to Minnesota. Word is KG and Flip Saunders flew to L.A. to talk to Malone and see if he wanted to come to the T-Wolves. I would love to see Malone in Boston though, no matter how old he is.
I don't buy the rumors of Malone going to Minnesota. It doesn't make sense, Minnesota can have a much better lineup with Garnett playing the four, if Wally can stay healthy. Minnesota needs a center, not a power forward. But I still don't think he'll be wearing Green next year. I know he's a good player, but I want to see the rookies and other young guys playing. Who would you rather watch play next season, Al Jefferson or what could be the most often injury prone power forward core in history, Raef Lafrentz, Karl Malone, and Tom Gugoliatta. The team isn't going anywhere besides a likely first round or possibly second round playoff exit anyway. Also off topic, but on the topic of the rookies, I've read that in Chicago Tony Allen has been one of the best players there and has been deemed Ron Artest Junior. He has been playing with Michael Finley, Antoine Walker, Quentin Richardson, Tyson Chandler, Ben Gordon, and others. Supposedly even Michael Jordan loves watching him play. This was reported by Chad Ford, so it's possible that none of this is true. But either way this should get Ricky and Jiri working extremely hard to improve their games. I haven't heard much about West or Jefferson lately, but I can imagine that they are also progressing well.

Karl Malone has played in this league for what, 18 years, and this past year was the first time he has ever been on the injured list!!! I do agree with you that I'd rather see Jefferson get playing time. Though I do think that if Malone wants to come to Boston, Ainge will gladly take him. Don't think it's gonna happen though. By the way, I've heard similar things about Allen's playing. Really exciting to hear, he was a steal at 25.
Well...Malone has enrolled his kids in schools in Los Angeles, so I doubt he'll be leaving the Lakers, because why would he go to the Clippers? He would be a great addition to Boston though, I'll admit that...it would give Jefferson someone to look up to
I highly doubt it. There is another post on this in the Rumor Mill. http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...newpost&t=24691

Malone barely played in the regular season last year and had knee problems the whole year.
i trul;y believe bean town would be a great fit for malone. And i dont think gary or malone would have to relocate their family if they both played in bean town they would just have to relocate themselves for one seaon or so. i say go for. the truth in Paul pierce is underated and with some help i think his team can go far.

I hear Jayson Williams is trying to make a comeback.
I be very surprised if he went anywhere else. He's most likely staying with the Lakers and if he wanted to leave I would go to Miami or San Anto nioif I were him.
