Quote:

Bulls.com: Have you been focusing on improving certain aspects of your game? Hinrich: ?I?ve been trying to work on shooting and a lot of the little things. Last year I didn?t shoot that great of a field goal percentage so I want to keep working on my stroke and different areas where I?m finding my shot. Basically I just need to get stronger and better at everything.? Bulls.com: Did you expect to have the kind of rookie season that you did? Hinrich: ?I really didn?t know what to expect. I just wanted to come in and contribute and help the team. Things got kind of crazy with Coach Cartwright getting fired and a bunch of trades and everything. I was basically just thrown into the mix. Sometimes I was really happy with the way that I played and sometimes I wasn?t. So it was kind of an up and down rollercoaster type season.? Bulls.com: As you enter your second season, it?s likely that you?ll be looked upon as one of the team leaders. Is that a role you?re ready for? Hinrich: ?I think so. That was also one of my goals last year, even being a rookie. Being so young and new to a team, it?s hard to be a leader in that situation. This year I want to take that role more, especially given the position that I play. Playing point guard, you have to be a leader.? Bulls.com: You seem to be exactly the kind of player that John Paxson and Scott Skiles want on their roster. Does that have anything to do with the relationship you have with them and the fact that you are in working out so often? Hinrich: ?I?m in here on a regular basis because I want to get better. There is a lot I can improve on. I want to accomplish a lot and I want us to win. So that?s the reason I?m in here. I think they are looking for guys who want to win, guys that aren?t worried about other stuff, they just want to win games.?

Link

No real hard questions there he seemed modest with some questions like most people would like when they asked him about his rookie year, and gave the obvious answers to other questions like has he been working hard this off season no real surprises there. Anyway it is good to here he is doing well this off season hopefully he will be a force next year with Gordon and Deng.
Real nice guy, easily deserves to be a team leader and cornerstone of the franchise. Kirk is going to be great, I wish I get to meet him if I ever end up a player in the NBA or atleast watching an NBA game.
